Name: Rainbow D. WyrmwoodAge: Biologically 24Race: Horny HumanFaction: UndecidedGender: MultiHeight: 6'1"Weight: 210 lbsAppearance:
Final D. Wyrmwood is a young man whose physical appearance betrays every aspect of his history. Most prominent of these betrayals is the color of his skin, which has remained light-colored and free of burns in spite of his many years growing up on a sun-razed island and then many more working seafaring ships across the Blues. The pigmentation in his skin refuses to darken, fluctuating between a mild tan and pale depending on the time of year. In addition to this, Final is lean-muscled while his colleagues are often times bulky, heavy-lifting meatheads. Working in shipping yards paired with constant fighting has not created another hulking mass of muscle, but instead has turned the boy into an almost lanky, fit young man with strength enough to work the jobs for long hours at a time.
While his figure remains cause for confusion, the way Final dresses very much shows the type of life that he's used to living. Very rarely can you find him wearing any type of shirt and even less often would he be found wearing proper pants. On the island of his earliest memories he can only remember being completely nude, only transitioning to a towel once found and after that - finally - ending up wearing the lantern hakama that are often found being worn by many samurai. Final feels much less restricted in this type of dress, but does not wear it for the same traditional reasons that most samurai do. The flip-flops are merely for show and are immediately removed whenever possible.
While from afar Final might appear to be a Devil Human, upon closer inspection reveals that the horns mounted on his head are less the sleek, straight of the Devil Humans and would appear closer to the horns that a beetle might have. Each horn is almost comically large compared to his Horn-Headed fellows, mostly caused by his many years living under and consuming as drinking water the Plague Rains. The metallic glow that is often times assumed to be the horns is little more than refracted light off of the beetle-like exoskeleton the horns are made of.
Further proof of Final's many years at the mercy of the Plague Rains can be shown by looking into his eyes or taking a peek at his lips. Although they work fine, the irises and pupils of his eyes look diseased and broken, even having shifted from blue to a milky light purple. Because of these eyes, it is extremely discomforting for people to look at him directly and he often times finds himself conversing with someone that is looking an entirely different direction altogether. This is compounded by the tattoo that lines his lips, looking like a zipper, but was put there to mask the scaring around his mouth caused by the heavy consumption of Plague Rain water to survive in his early years. The pain has long since subsided, but his physical appearance makes it hard for people to approach him, which means that in spite of his ability to converse with others, he finds he remains silent just to save himself the pain of seeing their discomfort.
Personality: Rainbow is a peculiar person in an extreme sense of the word. Depending on how strangers interact with him, he can throw all kinds of temperaments sometimes even from moment to moment. This makes him difficult to understand at best and totally unapproachable at worst, but that isn't because he chooses to be that way... at least not all of him. The primary concern for Rainbow is which alter is fronting in the moment, some of which are difficult to get along with even with the thickest skin. Discussing alters and the troubles that concern him is rarely done, as most people don't have any clue what Dissociate Identity Disorder (DID) is or how to cope with it. Rainbow is even a name chosen for the body as a means of combating strangers' inability to understand the disorder. However, to summarize, DID is a psychological disorder resulting from childhood trauma. A person diagnosed with this disorder will appear normal, but their personality has fragmented into these "alters" that showcase different temperaments and perform various jobs to keep the system productive and alive. Each alter is safety measure by the person's mind to cope with trauma, but can also be formed in partnerships to balance each other out or perform various functions that other alters couldn't handle themselves. Additionally, each alter resides in the same body, but they're very much different identities. These differences can be seen in energy levels, makeup or clothing styles, likes and dislikes, and age. Sometimes, a split can even create an alter that has a different accent from the host or original. Each alter should be treated as an entirely unique individual, yet they can also change in between fronts, aging or integrating as needed to cope with various external factors. Currently, Rainbow, the system [of alters], has ## alters that make it up.
These alters are:
- Toby
Age: 4 | Gender: Male | Role: Child Alter // Innocence |
Toby is a child alter whose age and role are entangled; one not able to exist without the alter. Because these two factors are so entwined, Toby is a child alter that will not age any further, forever the age of four unless he manages to integrate with another alter. Toby and his sister, Ozermeralda, are alters that formed at or around the same time with their roots being the same traumatic incident. The mind, in its attempt to cope with the trauma, isolated and salvaged its innocence into an alter that was wholly removed from the incident, yet perpetually linked with it in a duality of spirit. While Toby represents innocence, his sister, Ozmeralda, represents the lack thereof.
His personality reflects his age and role almost as well as they do each other. Toby is a child at heart with a curious intrigue in the world around him. He can always come up with a way to keep a conversation rolling, always capable of asking another question. His sunny disposition makes him a joy to be around, though for those in the overworld the childlike persona bleeding out of an adult body can be a fair bit off-putting, Because of this, it's very rare that Toby ever fronts, often leaving that to his elder alters or caretakers. However, even then there are occasions when the bubbling excitement of a child can't truly be contained.
Likes: | Dislikes: | - Exploring
The adventurous spirit of a child is difficult to control.. Toby loves to be outside experiencing the wilderness, be it the middle of a desert or deep in the jungle.
- Making new friends
Always friendly, Toby loves to make conversation with anyone that's willing to lend him an ear. His earnest investment in the conversation and willingness to be nice make making friends easy for him, and it's a hobby he enjoys thoroughly.
| - Girls
Girls have cooties, 'nough said.
- The Dark
The young man can put on a brave front all day long, but that front fades as soon as the sunlight does. Toby has a deathly fear of the dark and in the event that he's fronting, he lets a caretaker take over when the sun begins to go down.
- Meanies
Bullies of all kinds, including other alters that live within the Rainbow system, will receive a tongue lashing from Toby if he ever catches them in the act.
|
- Ozmeralda
Age: 4 | Gender: Female | Role: Child Alter // Trauma Holder |
Ozmeralda - Ozzy, as her brother likes to call her - is the equal and opposite result of the same traumatic experience that created Toby. While Toby represents Rainbow's childhood innocence, Ozzy not only represents that lack thereof, but also the loss thereof. Toby wouldn't be able to recall the memories of their creation, but Oz would. However, while a traumatic experience may be at the root of other alters, Oz harbors many. Rainbow's childhood was littered with beatings from older men, suitors of their mother, and starvation usually followed. There was no protection from their should be parent and so Rainbow's mind had to cope with the experiences somehow, resulting in many of the alters that still take refuge in the system in the present day.
Just as her brother does, Oz reflects her role via her personality. She can be found running around the brainscape with Toby, playing with toys they've fabricated or begging for the attention of other, older alters, but Oz doesn't share the same outwardly expressed joy that her brother is capable of. The young girl isn't even capable of smiling, though her eyes still show some of the intrigue that can be found in a child of her age. Older alters and caretakers can even attest to their thought that she may just have learned to conceal her childish side to survive, but over the years it has been a hard shell to crack.
Ozzy signifies a moment (or moments) of loss of innocence and her age is deadlocked with when it was lost. She shares the same fate as her twin, Toby, and is forever the age of four unless otherwise integrated. And though she doesn't seem capable of happiness, her duality with Toby is a relationship that even other alters seem jealous of.
- Charlemagne V
Age: 28 | Gender: Male | Role: Caretaker // Protector |
From an outside perspective, it'd be difficult to decipher between Charlemagne and Toby if it weren't for their different language skills. Charlemagne is very obviously an adult, but he's the adult version of an immutable sense of justice and good will. Unlike Toby, who is the isolation of childhood innocence, Charles' role is primarily to protect the innocence of others, be they other alters in the system or general people of the world. He has a good heart and his effort in making the world a better place is felt easily.
Charlemagne's role in the system reflects his good-natured personality as he's an internal caretaker and protector. If another alter is experiencing trauma while fronting, it's Charles that pulls them and fronts instead or otherwise replaces them. He organizes the majority of alters, pushing those to the front that would better handle a situation and babysitting the child alters that would only cause trouble. However, among all of the alters that Charles manages, it's the one that he can't that he's connected to the most.
Killsworth V is Charlemagne's foil - the absolute opposite of the sheer, unending good will that is Charlemagne V. In no coincidence at all, they are both the fifth in line, for if one grows stronger and more attached to their role, the other grows similarly. Every iteration of Charlemagne is even more saintly, with the only chink in his armor, the only crack in his smile, being the arrival of Killsworth. Yet even while ill will is born between them, Charlemagne knows how important his foil is to the system and to himself.
- Killsworth V
Age: Eternal | Gender: Male | Role: Persecutor |
Killsworth - or Killy - is Charles' foil. There is no sense of sympathy in this alter; he only lives to serve himself and his desires. Unfortunately for Rainbow, Killy's interests rest primarily with bloodshed at the hands of bladed weaponry. The clank of metal on metal or the smoothness of a blade slicing skin sends Killsworth spiraling into a frenzy of ecstasy, only roped in when Charlemagne intervenes.
Contrary to how it appears, Killsworth doesn't desire to front at all if he can help it. In the brainscape, he won't be found interacting with any of the other alters, but they're all well aware of his actions when he does front. Killy always manages to get the body harmed, even though his skill with a sword is undeniable. Even though he's skillful, his frenzies make wounds common, but the death of others even more so.
- Inna
Age: Ageless | Gender: Female | Role: Sexual Alter // Persecutor // Trauma Holder |
Inna is a sexual alter and trauma holder, meaning that she is the alter that tends to front during sexual excursions as well as withhold and conceal trauma that other alters and the rest of the mind would be unable to cope with. However, when the terminology is combined, the result is an alter that withholds sexual trauma from the rest of the system. She is the sole alter with this purpose and as such, is one of two alters with a memory of the first split, although she wouldn't remember it as such. Inna is deeply embedded in the Rainbow system's history and is one of the oldest alters chronologically, though again very few would be aware of that fact.
She embodies sexual trauma due to bearing witness to the acts performed by Rainbow's mother in the moments before her brutal murder by the hands of the man whom she was performing those acts with. When Inna was originally formed, she was relatively quiet, but always angry, toting around those memories and partitioning them off from the rest of the mind. Had it not been for her, it's very possible that Rainbow wouldn't have survived either. Yet, over the years of carrying that trauma and that rage with her, Inna evolved from simply a trauma holder into a persecutor as well. It could be seen as counter-intuitive, yet combined with her other roles Inna was able to take back sexual exploration, albeit with the risk of harm to the body. At around the time she took on her new role, she became an alter that could also front rather than being a dark corner of Rainbow's mind. She took on a name, age, likes and dislikes, and overall began to truly grow into her own, unique person. Inna, her name, comes from the ancient Sumerian goddess of love and war, Inanna, perfectly embodying her roles in the system as well as being a symbol of personal strength.
Although Inna is extremely important to the system, she doesn't tend to front often. Her primary roles dictate that she'll usually front if sexual tendencies need to be withheld from the rest of the system, yet also if the body just needs to relieve some sexual tension. Even rarer still, Inna will front if an individual wishes to fight, though there are other persecutors that handle these situations normally.
At her core, Inna is an ageless beauty. She's of legal age to perform the tasks she's expected to, but further detail cannot be found. She's not bound by age the same way that other alters or people are. Further leaning into her individuality, her sense of attire tends to lean towards tight, leather outfits and dark makeup when applicable, but these types of styles can sometimes be dangerous, as the body is male.

- Noir
Age: 36 | Gender: Male | Role: Persecutor |
Noir is a genre of film primarily known for its exaggerated sense of cynicism and moral ambiguity. Coincidentally - or not so much - this alter is named after and acts like he's from this genre of film. He, however, is not able to make this distinction even if examples are shown to him, exemplifying the fatalism seen in these films as well as his own misgivings with the world. Yet, while his personality is easily dissected and mocked, his skill set is far from a joke - he is in fact every bit of a capable detective as his persona implies.
- The Vault
Age: N/A | Gender: N/A | Role: Memory Bank // Trauma Holder |
Unlike other alters in the system, the Vault is a persona not of another person or even an animal, but an inanimate object. At some point in Rainbow's past his mind took on a new coping tactic and decided to completely wall off these memories from other alters unless specifically sought. This created a vault, or library, that other alters can look into at will, but none of whom are forced to reconcile with against their wills. However, the Vault holds memories of all types, making it serve an extra purpose than that safe storage space of memories. It's a sharing room in the brainscape that alters can access to make fronting less stressful and make switches more of a smooth transition than the average, headache-inducing stress event that they normally would be.
Furthermore, the Vault is only possible because it takes in an aspect of Rainbow that other alters seem unable to tap into - his eidetic memory. The many alters that make up the Rainbow system seem to hold extremely vivid memories of the traumatic ordeals that created them, but none seem to question it as more than what it is. Without this photographic memory, the sharing of memories would become much harder, limited to conversations that would be as normal and fluid as those in the overworld. However, this photographic memory is very possibly also the entire reason that Rainbow's mind had to begin fragmenting to cope with trauma to begin with.
