JAIL If you choose the life of a criminal, the possibility of being incarcerated always lingers on the horizon. Jail isn't the end all be all, but it certainly isn't a place you want to spend much time in. There are 4 publicly known levels to being jailed and your Bounty is the main factor in deciding which one you'll land in if you're turned in.
Local Jail: The jail that resides on basically every island. Security isn't anything special and they rarely ever have enough cells for more than 20 criminals at a time.
10,000,000 or lower Bounty
1 Day to 1 Week sentence

Zone Jail: This jail is a step up from any old raggedy jail. The guards are most definitely armed and things are ran in a way much similar to a real jail with schedules and what not. They have enough space for roughly 300 criminals.
10,000,000-45,000,000 Bounty
5 Days to 2 weeks sentence

Capital Jail: The jail that resides in the Capital of that ocean e.g. North Blue, East Blue. These jails are almost always World Government owned, so they have top of the line security which includes visual feed from Den Den Mushi, speaker announcements, well equipped and trained guards, etc. Each capital jail is outfitted to hold thousands of criminals, though many eventually disappear due to unknown reasons. 9 times out of 10 if someone has a Devil Fruit, they will be sent to Capital Jail regardless of their Bounty.
45,000,000-100,000,000 Bounty
1 Month to Indefinite sentence

Impel Down: -UNDER CONSTRUCTION-
Jail works in a unique way across the board and the nature of a prison is up to the player unless they are in a jail with preset specifications. Since you are stuck imprisoned for however long your sentence was decided to be, you can either rp and make the most out of the situation or simply wait it out, though waiting it out isn't always the case in Capital Jail. Jail shouldn't be too much of a burden though and can actually be made into an enjoyable experience if you spin it the right way. In a place densely populated with criminals, almost anything is subject to happen.
The last thing to be noted is that if you have previously been jailed and are captured again, you will be sent to Capital Jail and serve the indefinite sentence.
