Name: Noirevoile Bank: A Warehouse: C Major: No WG: No Turf: The Queen, The Obsidian Petal Components: Independant Monarchy, government officials, and mostly citizens. Minor revolutionary army prescence. Environments: Tundra Size: Medium Inhabited: Yes Description:
A heavily industrialized island that was stained black by a volcanic eruption, causing what's left of the island to break off of the island it was originally attached to. It later drifted into the Florian Triangle as a result of natural forces.
Known by those within the triangle for it's black buildings and victorian culture that seems to be stuck in their supposed golden age that ended so many decades ago elsewhere. It's a place that tends to isolate itself and create rumors about why, some saying it's filled with inhuman monsters while others claim any foriegners get killed on sight by its military, the Blackguard.
Everything on the island is black to blend in with the darkness of the triangle and to match the scorched earth that forever made the old marsh into a winter tundra without snow. There are five social calsses that reside on this island ranking from lowest to highest ranking in this order; the iron petal, the bronze petal, the silver petal, the gold petal, and the obsidian petal. Citizens are given pins made of the petal they belong to in the shape of a lotus.
The iron petal is the poorest class of people that work in the factories and small labor jobs that generate much of the backbone for the luxuries others in higher social standing enjoy. The people in this wealth class are oddly enough content enough since most of them lead comfortable but modest lives.
The Bronze petal consist of people who own small businesses and work in management of factories and industry. They're often overworked and underpaid for the effort that they do though they often bribe the richer folk to get where and what they want including wives, possessiojns and even property. This reality is often covered up in favor of good public opinion lest you get your kneecaps broken.
The silver and gold petal are more or less the same in that it consists mostly of aristocrats and rich people who think they're better than everyone else because nothing stops them from getting their way. Some break out of this normalcy and leave the island, most often being rebellious individuals from the gold petal, who are given future husbands and wives completely against their control. The main difference between these two wealth classes is that citizens of the gold petal think less of even those of silver petal standing.
The obsidian petal is where the upper echelon of society lies, consisting almost entirely of the blackguard and the Queen's council members. The blackguard acts as their military and royal guard, invaders being few and far between in recent years. The Queen herself has absolute power, deciding the morals and socially acceptable behavior and beliefs as to prevent civil war. This instills a great fear among even the blackguard, the Queen being rumored to have a strange magical power that makes her able to silence and bring whoever opposes her to their knees.
Encyclopedia: According to the last known public records, noirevoille has large exports of a special metal that gives unique hues of color and incredibly high durability when forged into weapons and metal objects used only in the blackguard's swords and pins. The color of the metal is dependent on how fast the metal is cooled as well as what additive minerals or metals are used to give it its signature and legendary strength and hue. Lore: Noirevoille, meaning "Black Veil" gets its name from both the ash of the volcano that split the island off the mainland along with the story of the man with a sword as black as the night and reflective as obsidian that saved the country from invaders as it drifted along the ocean. In honor of this man only the queen may wield a black sword, a symbol of unstoppable strength from that point forwards. Technology: Great
