Name: Bartholomew Roberts
Age: 19
Race: Human
Faction: Pirate
Gender: Male
Height:Weight:Appearance: [Picture]
Personality: Bart has a very laid-back and carefree demeanor, rarely letting anything bother him and occasionally cracking jokes at others' expense, though even he has his limits when it comes to patience with unreasonable people. He craves excitement. In terms of combat, he becomes a lot louder and more excited sounding during a fight. He has nothing but the utmost respect to those who show resolve in combat and will react gracefully even when losing.
He is a materialistic person and sees wealth as “the only thing worth more then your soul in this world.” He is also a bit of a kleptomaniac, due to his lifestyle of being a pickpocket prior to becoming a full blown pirate. The inability to resist the urge to steal items that he generally don't really need and that usually have little value, it is something that may sometimes come in handy, and other times just annoy him.
He is proficient in a game called 'Nine Men's Morris', a popular game among seafaring folk that is similar to checkers, but with differing rules and a specialized board. It is common to place bets on who would win a game of Nine Men's Morris, essentially turning in into a kind of gambling game. Nine Men's Morris is a 'solved game', that is, a game whose optimal strategy has been calculated. It has been shown that with perfect play from both players, the game results in a draw. Such, it is commonplace for those who are proficient to play for 4-5 games in a row solely due to ending in a draw.
Optional:- Likes: Gambling, Money, a Good Fight
- Dislikes: Taking Useless Items, Losing a Bet
- Interest: Excitement, Nine Men's Morris
- Disinterest: Boredom, Games that rely on Luck rather then Skill
- Morality Alignment: Neutral Evil
Future: A wandering vegabond looking for the next thing to catch his interest, seeking even more excitement until the day he dies. 'Resting peacefully' isn't in his retirement plan.
Dream/Goal: His only goal in truth is to live life to the fullest. See the greatest wonders, meet interesting people. Fight great battles. Really, he is like a 'Cloud', free and untamed, moving wherever the wind blows him, doing whatever he wants, when he wants. So long as there is something to do, that's reason enough to keep living, in his eyes. Perhaps 'a endless journey without end in sight' is his ultimate 'dream'.

History: Known as Black Bart in his youth, he was the leader of a gang of child criminals who were orphaned at a early age and forced to live on the streets, neglected by their birth parents for whatever reason. They were trained by an elderly old man, who called himself "Lupin", and taught them to make their livings by pick-pocketing and other criminal activities, in exchange for shelter. Despite being the leader, the best pickpocket among them was somebody whom they called simply the 'Artful Dodger', uniquely standing out among them as a child who acts like an adult. He always wore adult clothes which were much too large for him, and like an adult, he seldom gave in to childish urges.
A distinguishing trait of Lupin was his constant—and insincere—use of the phrase "my dear" when addressing others. By the time he had gotten to Bart, he had already made criminals out of "scores" of children, so he was by far not the first. Lupin was a confessed miser who, despite the wealth that he has acquired, did very little to improve the squalid lives of the children he guarded, or his own. He cares less for their welfare, and more on that they do not "peach" (inform) on him and the other children. If his neglect of improving their living situation wasn't bad enough, there were various points where he has beaten both him and Dodger for various reasons, as well as other children under his care. At one point he even indirectly (but intentionally) caused the death of one of the children he didn't like by falsely informing another of the children that they had betrayed them, when in reality they had shielded that same individual from the law, in which they killed said child out of spite and revenge.
The only one who liked Lupin to any degree was Dodger, who has a great respect for Lupin, to whom he delivers all of his pickpocketing spoils without question. It all came crashing down on Lupin's head when Dodger ultimately got caught with a stolen silver snuff box. The absurdity of the master pickpocket being caught over something so small is remarked upon by many of his associates and even the locals. In a attempt to save himself a death sentence, he outed Lupin, resulting in him being captured and sentenced to be hanged, pitiable in his anguish during his final moments.
The kids were forced to fend for themselves, and with Bart as their leader, they started the
Backstreet Alleycats, and worked together to make the most of their lives, still too young to hold any kind of home for themselves. Years pass, and what was once a vast gang petered down to a trio, including Dodger, whom had gotten himself a reduced sentence and a easier time due to being a kid still at the time. Nobody blamed him nor ridiculed him for outing Lupin due to how much of a mean spirited and abusive caretaker they were. Having developed a craving for more, Bart decided to give up the ways of petty theft and promote himself to higher level crimes, and become a pirate. Dodger agreed to join Bart, as he feels his face was too recognizable to continue his life of crime in the town they are in, but finds stealing is too much in his blood to gun for a normal job. So it was agreed.
What little was left of the Backstreet Alleycats became the
Alley Cat Pirates. Bart wanted to call them the 'Black Bart Pirates' but even Dodger would say that was a bit too self centered.

Desired Grade: (What Grade are you aiming for?)
Name: Pickpocket/Thief
Background: Bartholomew was a thief his whole life, ever since he was a child, and it is thus something that just comes naturally to him. From what he was taught by the old and abusive Lupin, he had grown to match even the likes of the Artful Dodger, who was known as the best pickpocket around the time they were still young, up until the point he was arrested. A profession that requires having a talent for skullduggery, sticky fingers, and a excellent slight-of-hand.
Combat Potential: While being a thief doesn't possess much in terms of combative potential, the ability to mess with a opponents inventory in such a way that they don't know something was taken (or if something was planted onto them) until it is too late is one of the main combative properties of this job class. Indeed, the ability to steal a item in the heat of battle, even a weapon, would be a possibility.
Non-Combat Potential: This is where thief/pickpocket shines. The capacity to passively know if somebody is carrying something valuable, the ability to take items without people knowing. Lockpicking, ect.
