Her bloodline has served as marines for several generations, and each member is brought up to have a great deal of loyalty towards the service. Song, being quite passive, never resisted this pressure from her family, and was quite pleased to find a place where her unusual body could do some good. Despite her lazy attitude, natural strength gave her a clear advantage in efforts as a marine. Faction: Marine Background: Clow was raised in the West Blue by his human father, a simple cook. Both his parents feared for the boy’s future should he be discovered to be the son of a fishman woman. Their town turned out to loathe this union of different species, and Clow was forced to flee as a refugee into the North Blue, leaving behind his father. In his travels North, he volunteered to work as a cabin boy on a marine ship, eventually finding camaraderie and hesitant acceptance with them, joining their ranks as quickly as he could manage. Faction: Marine Background: Gelina was born the first daughter of a family of marines, committed to serving for generations. Despite her strong desire to fulfill her family’s work, the young woman was never blessed with the same physical talent some of her family possessed. To make up for this, and ensure her rise through the marine ranks stayed ahead of her little sister, Gelina became an avid scholar of combat theory and history, finding a niche within the marines. Personality: Garik is a decisive and just man. He has very little consideration for the bending of rules by others. Instead of individual strength, he believes quite strongly in the power of information and discipline. Those who can offer him either will easily earn his favor. Garik has no reservations about using lethal force on opponents or even on himself to see justice done. Garik’s “Total Justice” is based on boiling down what would be best for the world at large, blinding him to small losses or cruelties for the sake of a greater good. This is a creed he follows closely. He enjoys debating this sense of justice with others and affirming his own belief in these thoughts, especially over tea and sweets. Faction: Marine Background: From before he was a teenager, Garik was working in the factories of his home island to help support his family. What always struck him was the disease and strife caused by the factories and conditions. He experimented with the workers and the chemicals and smoke of the island to make discoveries into chemical warfare without having even gone to school. Garik used these drugs and compounds to earn himself a way out of Caprice Island, and become a marine, moving through the ranks steadily with his strange chemical weapons. Relations: Bounty: N/A
Personality: Not only does Denji take pride in capturing high bounty criminals, but also challenges himself and his marines to train harder than any other crew. Denji insists that subordinate marines call him “Coach” rather than captain. More than wanting to arrest criminals and prevent crime, Denji wants to ensure that the lawkeepers are as powerful as they can be, committing himself to their upbringing. He refers to this belief system as “Individual Justice.” Even when talking or hanging about casually, he’ll challenge himself and others to take part in workouts with his boundless energy. Faction: Marine Background: Denji was born in the North Blue to a tribe of refugee minks. Even as a child, Denji was attracted to the endless fighting that consumed half the island. What began as just him watching fondly turned to him participating in the wild brawls and testing his mettle against them. In the midst of combat, nobody cared for who he was or where he came from, and felt completely free. This lust for battle made him strong, and as he would win more and more battles, he would settle disputes and quell the fighting. Faction: Revolutionary Background: Ko was born into a life of poverty in the North Blue. His family were hustlers, striving to make a quick bit of money at any cost to themselves. Though they worked in shady ways, they made a rule to never break any laws and risk the authorities splitting their family. Ko disliked this rule, preferring to simply take what he wanted. He preferred the idea of food, water and shelter being free for all people, and worked to take it from those he felt had too much. When his crimes eventually caught up to him, he split from his island, eventually joining up with the marines at the age of 17, happy to find a place that agrees with his idea about leveling the playing field and seizing the power from those that have it. . Faction: Revolutionary Background: Cabra was a Mink orphan without a tribe of people like herself. She grew up her childhood having never seen another person like her, the girl’s parents having abandoned her on an island in the North Blue. For most of her life she felt purposeless, roaming from island to island looking for something that could ignite any passion or deep emotion in her. When she was sixteen, she came upon a Revolutionary rally, where she found people from all walks of life, including other Minks. For a while, she only supported the revolution from the sidelines, but after starting a family with comrade revolutionaries, she decided to fight for a better future, leaving her kid in the care of others when she goes on operations. Faction: Revolutionary Background: Gira was born to a rich family of traders in the North Blue. Much of her childhood involved formal education to become a proper businesswoman. She found it rather easy to obey and fall in line with her parent’s instructions. A revolutionary raid struck a trading ship on which she was sailing during her young adolescence, taking its cargo and crew. Gira was initially terrified of the revolutionaries she’d heard such nasty things about, but was forced to live with them while leaders negotiated her ransom with her parents. To many’s surprise, she found herself growing fond of the cause and its membership, tasting for the first time a true freedom. At her request, the revolutionaries dropped the ransom request, instead taking on the young woman, intent to pay back that sacrifice through her service. Relations: Bounty:
