APPEARANCE
Even at a glance, one can quickly come to the conclusion that Amelie is a child or at the very least on the younger side. While she hates that that is the first impression people get of her, it is sadly the truth. On top of looking young skin and bone structure wise, Amelie also has a petite body so many find themselves approximating her age at around 14 or 15 instead of the 18 that she actually is. And since her skin was mentioned, Amelie sports a beautiful olive color that is believed to be due to a combination of her genes and her constant exposure to the sun. Other distinct features of Amelie that people notice at a glance would first be her hair color and then her eyes. Amelie’s hair is an odd mixture of light brown and red, and while being closer to reddish brown, she finds that it’s easier to describe it as a bright auburn as it gets the point across. For the most part, it’s pretty normal but it also has a sort of natural shine to it that makes it faintly glow in the light and shimmer in the dark. Her eyes on the other hand are a complimenting hazelnut brown, which by themselves aren’t really special, but when combined with her odd hair color, can make Amelie stand out in a crowd.
When it comes to what she looks like on an everyday basis, Amelie’s wardrobe varies widely. In the blues, she tends to rotate between two different outfits depending on the weather. In the islands of warmer weather, she finds herself in a plain black crop top accompanied by a dark red miniskirt and fishnet leggings, along with black knee-high boots and dark red fingerless gloves. This outfit had her movement in mind and so she tried to make it as minimalistic as possible while still doing it’s job as clothes. If one were to pay close enough attention, they might even catch a glimpse of what she’s wearing under the skirt since it’s short and she moves around a lot, though what she’s wearing as underwear changes constantly. In colder weather, she wears a dark brown leather cropped jacket with a white tank top and black jeans. The back of the jacket reads “LOUD!” in black block letters and she wears brown snow boots as well.
PERSONALITY
First and foremost, Amelie is a humble yet prideful person. Basically, she is modest when it comes to bragging. This is most apparent when in relation to her status as a noble, as Amelie doesn’t like going around talking about it or making known to people if not asked about it, however if she were confronted about the fact she will become incredibly defensive and tout her nobility as a blessing rather than a curse in that moment. It’s not just in that specific situation either, Amelies is a very protective person as well, often coming to the aid of those that she holds dearly and defending people that can’t or won’t stand up for themselves. It’s often that she finds herself cleaning up other people’s messes or butting into others altercations because she has a weird sense of heroism that stems from stories told to her as a child. Amelie has always looked up to some of the good guys of stories since she was a little girl, and combining that with the supposed heroisms of her father, it’s made her mental image of morality skewed towards these stories. This also ends up influencing most of her actions today as she sees the government and marines as the “good guys” and the pirates as the “bad guys”, however she merely thinks that those who fight against the government are just those she doesn’t understand. When it comes to her personal judgement of others, she likes to give the benefit of the doubt. She’s seen and has been told what happens when people jump to conclusions and thus wants to go through life knowing what she’s getting into and why she has an opinion on things.
That being said, Amelie is as prone to succumbing to her emotions as anyone else is. While not being incredibly emotionally driven, she is known to have a pretty short temper though her peak is not as destructive as most would assume. It becomes incredibly easy to tick her off and cause her to become angry, though she still keeps a semi-rational mindset and attempts to no do anything stupid. These attempts work sometimes, while other times they fail spectacularly. While on the topic of emotions, when it comes to love Amelie is a bit of an odd case. To start off with the simple, Amelie’s sexual orientation classifies as bisexual, with her willing to swing either way depending on the person. When it comes to picking said person, however, Amelie really only has one requirement: they have to be a hero. As stated before, as a child she had a weird fixation on the hero-type characters and this ended up sticking with her into adulthood, with her mental image of the perfect partner being someone that not only shares the same ideals as her but is her “knight in shining armor”, so to speak. As a romantic, she is very set on this requirement as has been known to fall for people that she’s close with. The weird thing about this requirement is that it doesn’t matter what the person looks like as long as they fulfill it.
Other things to note about Amelie’s personality is her complaining and her work ethic. She doesn’t necessarily have any problems with getting things done. In fact, when she forces herself to work she seems to be way more efficient with things. However, just because she’s doing it doesn’t mean she enjoys it and she makes this known by almost constantly complaining. There could be nobody around her and Amelie will complain to herself about how much she doesn’t like what she is currently doing. Besides that, another random thing about her is that she tends to cry if other people around her are crying. While most expect this to be common, this happens nearly every time. If inquired, she can never really give an answer as to why she’s doing it, but just that it happens.
PAST & FUTURE
FUTURE
Despite everything here, I don't plan on Amelie staying a bounty hunter forever. In fact, she's going to switch to pirate pretty early on in her story. From there, supernova is the next goal.
DREAM/GOAL
Amelie's goal is to earn her way back into Marie Jois, this time earning her way there instead of just being given it by her father. As a side-effect, she has also refused to see her father until she's accomplished this.
HOME ISLAND
Marie Jois
HISTORY
Age 0 to 1 - During year 771, on an island in the North Blue, a mother gave birth to a child. There were complications during childbirth and unfortunately she didn’t make it, however the child did. With no known father at the time and no next of kin stated, the child was handed off to an orphanage on the island and was basically forgotten. This nameless child would soon find a home, however, when a mysterious man visited the orphanage in search of someone to carry on his legacy. Perhaps it was fate or just random chance, but he ended up picking this nameless child out of curiosity, wondering how one can exist without a name and then reflecting on the sadness of the reality. Upon adopting her he named her Amelie, the name of his late mother and took her to his home of Marie Jois.
Age 2 to 5 - For her early childhood, Amelie barely saw her father. This was mainly due to his request as he quickly realized that he had no idea how to raise a child. The man was a fighter, not a father, but he knew that there were many people that were many people around him that were way better equipped then he was. Ultimately, the man settled on hiring a wet nurse and she ended up being Amelie’s parent for her early years. The wet nurse did her job for the most part, as she did take care of the child, but she was also in charge of teaching her things as well. Amelie’s father missed out on some of the most important milestones, like her first words and her first steps, while her “mother” seemed to not really care about it as it was simply a job and nothing more to her. This led to Amelie making friends with herself and often let her imagination run wild.
Being her own best friend led to some interesting situations. One that she remembers somewhat fondly is that, for a while, her nurse was convinced that Amelie was possessed by something. Being a playful child, Amelie tried to stay along with this whole ruse until eventually her nurse wised up and came to the conclusion that the child was just talking to herself. A lot of her more creative and playful antics often found root in the stories that were read to her at bedtime. Being in this large palace, there was always a large assortment of books, though they were rarely meant for children. This meant that it was up to the nurse to paraphrase a lot of the stories written about into something that would be more suitable for someone young. These always tended to be about men who have done great deeds or were incredibly smart or had found something amazing. This all just kept feeding her imagination more and more, and still has an effect on her over a decade later.
Age 6 to 11 - When she was six, Amelie saw her father for the first time, or at least the first time she can remember. Their first meeting was awkward to say the least, as from Amelie’s perspective, she was just thrown into a room with a man she’s never seen before that was supposed to be her father. It wasn’t any better from Dante’s side either, as he knew very little to nothing about his supposed daughter so he had no idea how to strike up the conversation. Lucky for both of them, Amelie always has something to say, she was a child in a huge world. Whether it be questions, a joke, or something in her day that everyone has to know. And so, all it took was one sentence for Amelie to make what would be her best friend for life.
“Are you like Santa Claus or something?” Amelie had learned about a man named Santa Claus from one of the stories told to her, but because it was pretty boring, the only fact she could remember was his white hair. Now, you gotta remember, up until this point she’s only ever known one person and hasn’t really gone out much so her only reference for anything else were these outlandish stories told to her. By kid standards, what she said wasn’t too insane, it was a legitimate question. To Dante, it was a hilarious question. He laughed and laughed, before replying: “I wish I was.” From that point forward, the two got along well, though not as father and daughter but as friends. See, Dante didn’t really know how to be a father and Amelie didn’t know what she was to expect from one, so the two just ended up doing what they felt was right and went on from there.
It was also during this period that she started training to take up her father’s position as a World Noble. Except nobody explained that to her. So, Amelie just figured that she was doing boring school stuff most of the time and didn’t really grasp the seriousness of the situation. A lot of the information, if she didn’t find it cool or interesting, mainly went in one ear and out the other. Also, around this time, Amelie was able to explore Marie Jois more, and met a lot of the other Celestial Dragons that lived there, however none of them really took the time of day to talk to her and it often led to Dante being reprimanded. He didn’t really care however, and often just waved it off as “the kid being a kid”.
Age 12 to 13 - There wasn’t much that happened in this section of her life besides one thing that would change how she viewed herself forever.
See, it was around this age that most of the other Celestial Dragons brought their kids to Marie Jois. By this point, they’ve already started to grow into their roles for the most part while Amelie was still treating it like an elaborate game. These stuck up, posh kids saw this and made sure to put her in her place. They told her that, under any other circumstance, she would be like the rest of the trash that litters the world. To think that Amelie was here because of love or desire was absurd, she was merely a noble out of chance and nothing more. Furthermore, to be a Devron is a disgrace. I mean, imagine being part of a family of incompetent cowards! They gave the rest of the Dragons a bad name.
Amelie, not really fully grasping what was said to her but got the general gist of things, knew it was nothing nice. But she didn’t know how to respond, so she just sucked it up and kept going on with her life. However, from that moment on there were always whispers wherever she went. She began to doubt herself and her legitimacy, but also it drove her to prove those people wrong, showing that she did belong here just like the rest of them.
Age 14 to 15 - With her newfound determination, Amelie changed from an idiot to a genius, so to speak. From nearly failing almost all of the classes to ace them. Well, almost all of them. The main classes that she still couldn’t really get a hang on were the ones that were combat focused, still just barely scraping by in those ones. However, with her infinite wisdom, Amelie had the idea to just take all of the combat classes at once, as taking them one at a time seemed to prove ineffective. This idea worked to some degree, where Amelie was able to pass these classes simultaneously with an average rating, rather than waste her time studying one class front to back. When she told Dante about this, it was rather peculiar to him. Normally, if someone were to take all that information in at once they would fail at everything, but it didn’t happen here. The only time he’s ever seen someone else do something like that was his captain, who was skilled enough to control multiple ships with ease and survey a battlefield as if it was in his mind. He told Amelie about this but she had no idea what it meant, so both of them just shrugged it off and continued life as normal.
Age 16 to 18 - Being that she was done with training, the last two years Amelie spent were used to take care of her father. While the two were friendly with each other prior to this point, they’ve never actually spent time bonding together. Since Dante was uncomfortable leaving his room, let alone Marie Jois, everyday for two years Amelie would visit him in the morning and leave his room at night. The visits contained different things, whether it just be to eat, talk, or help him out with something. It was in this span of time that the two really got to know each other. Amelie would tell him about her day, who she enjoyed, who she hated, which of the Dragons were doing what, so on and so on. In return, Dante would tell her stories of his time in the Marines, but would refuse to tell her anything about his family. Even this late into his life and he still couldn’t cope with what happened, and nobody would ever tell her if she asked so, to this day, Amelie still doesn’t know what became of the Devron family besides Dante.
However, one day, Dante asked her a question.
“What do you want to do with your life?” And for the first time since they met, Amelie couldn’t respond. It was a question that she has never truly considered. She was content with just staying stuck in Marie Jois for the rest of her life, but there had to be more, right? What about the Blues, the Grand Line? All those stories she’s been told, what if she could live them? It turned out, what she wanted to do, she could do with him. And so, Amelie made the choice to leave Marie Jois in search of adventure, and become a legend herself. Once that happens, nobody will be allowed to say anything about her, because a true legend would belong in Marie Jois.
Present - At the moment, Amelie is poor and lost in the North Blue. With no weapon and no source of income, she figured that becoming a bounty hunter was the next most likely plan of action, seeing as how she wouldn’t last a day in the man dominated Marines and had no intention of searching for then joining Cipher Pol.

VOUCHERS & other
JOB
Name: Warlord Background: It's common for nobility to be trained in a certain kind of martial art when they are growing up. However, in Amelie's case, because she was super curious about what every fighting style could do she ended up learning the basics to everything that was available to be taught. This means that she is a jack of all trades fighting wise, but a master of none. Luckily, it makes it easier for her to pick up more styles as she goes, because what's one more when she already has many, and if she ever wanted to she could dedicate the time to master a few. Combat Potential: Any Weapon Proficiency, Any Armor Proficiency, Any Martial Art Non-Combat Potential: Blacksmithing, Gunsmithing

Certain attributes, Traits, Feats, their tools, etc.) Start Date: (How long has your character ICly worked there.)
Trait Name: Swashbuckling Type: Job | Proficiency Origin: One of the many fighting styles kept in her brain that she learned at Marie Jois. Description: Despite the name, Swashbuckling is a fighting style of great finesse that both nobles and pirates alike tend to use. Where pirates like to use it's offense and speed to catch their opponents off guard and prolong duels, nobles use it's speed to slash at vital points to make their opponent both suffer injuries and defeat in an incredibly quick manner. Being noble taught, Amelie abuses the latter. It is noted that because of those two sides of the style, it can be used with either a cutlass or a rapier, and in certain situations a gun can be added into the mix. Skill+ Traits: None, for now. Trait Name: Low Noble Type: Special Origin: Background Description: Due to being the immediate family of a World Noble, Amelie has some nobility in herself as well. However, because she was adopted and is not related by blood, until her father passes away she is only seen as a low noble, given the bare minimum out of courtesy. This tends not to be well known by pretty much anyone except a World Noble, so very few would even be aware of her status as she rarely shows it as well. Levels: N/A Requirements: None
