How long had she been travelling? Melissa didn't know. She was on her way to Java island like she believed the coins had said. She hoped to meet Mo there, she had waited but he had not shown. She didn't hold that against him. She instead understood. People get busy, if you can't adapt you die and girl she adapts. In fact that was the reason for this little stop. She was inspired by the young man she had seen. Mo had this unique ability to produce some form of slime and well....she in that last fight realised she had a finishing move, her large sword that she could power all of her ability into but it left her blacked out. She had her nails but they weren't always a viable option. She needed something that she could use at a range. She had been around fishmen, she lived with them so learning one of their own abilities was an easy task, Mermaid Combat and Fisham Juijitsu were very closely related, so wielding water like bullets was a common ability that both the mermaids and the fishman shared. She just hadn't bothered learning or using it yet. Now this seemed like the perfect time.
The water was already glistening from her. "I should really learn more than just this. But I don't know how much time I have" She realised on swimming here that her unique ability with water wasn't just something she could use too create a sword or simple objects. It was something that she could use to literally manipulate waters very essence. Why hadn't she tapped into that. Many abilities used water and if she could manipulate someones own water based abilities right back at them or even just cancel them out then why hadn't she learned that yet. Her unqiue relationship with water allowed her to learn water like attacks and such easily. She could manipulate water easily with subtle movements unlike others of her breed, who required more movement, more gestures. She had literally burst water from her fins with gentle movements. She needed to capatilize on that except..
Out of frustration, she took aim at the ground a few meters away, she positioned her hand like a gun, with one pulse, a bullet of water erupted forward. Like I said, talented with water and training it...it seemed to bend to her will whenever she needed it too. It shot through the ground with burst, dirst upon this small island shattered into the air. "Pow pow pow" she said making little gun noises as the water from her fingers burst forth, so she could move water but......each large chunk of rock landed upon the ground. no bullet hit the stones. "So....its not the technique I need to improve on...its my shitty aim" she grumbled. She would continue to shoot rock, over and over again but no matter how many times she tried she honestly just could not fucking hit any of these smaller targets. "I....suck" she said grumbled in frustration. Taking time to lie upon the edge of the island, allowing her fins to gently prance along the waters edge. She continued as she lay down to manipulate water, shifting it to her fingers, condendsing it down to the point that she could release it. She rolled over like an army bish and shot her bullet forward. It hit nothing because well, there was nothing to aim for.

Disturbing the water again, she pushed her body into the sea and swam deep, twisting in the water she couldn't help but practice to see how far and how well she could use these bullets in the element that they were made for. Thats the beauty of being a mermaid, of being a water bender of sorts. The bullets she released shot forth as if they werent even in water, they cut through it as if it were mere air, without losing a single burst of speed or their capabilities. If only the world was as beautiful as the sea, if only the entire world was under the ocean. She wanted that so much. She could have so much more freedom...how stupid was she. A warrior of nothing, trying to work on techniques that people younger than her knew, she was a singer for a pirate crew, learning to fight, she was an invalid, a child and really out of her depth, funny because she loved being in the depth. This was just the first step she had to keep telling herself. She had to continue to practice. She had to continue to fight like there was no tomorrow, because for other people, there is no tomorrow. "Keep going" she said as she shot from the water like a bullet herself, landing gently upon the land like a super hero. It took her about ten minutes to quickly create a little target. She always gave up on many things. She promised in this moment. NO FUCKING MORE. She was sweet and innocent, she would use that to her advantage, she was thought off as weak and useless and, if she could just keep that, they wouldn't see the assassin in their midst. She was going to get revenge.
"I'm going to avenge Trisha" and a shot of water blasted the large rock. "For Morgan" she said chocking on the name as tears faltered. This time a much larger shot burst forth. "FOR KAKUA" she screamed. Another burst. Over and over, she repeated the names of her fallen family finally, her voice hoarse, her eyes red and the tears halting. She cleared her throat as she looked on. The large rock she had been attacking had many holes within it. Yet there was one more name to be said. "This one is for you. Captain Chevalier 'Iron Fists' Gabriel" she uttered as her voice wavered. A final shot erupted forward and there it was. It shot through that rock dead center, the cracks began to spread and in one large sounding crash. The rock collapsed in on itself. She fell to her knees. Crying, words only helped so much, she could say she wasn't going to be a cry baby, she wasn't going to shed tears any more. Her personality and mind were just not where her words were, Not just now any way
