Karate Island was the best place for Raphael to improve his capabilities as a fighter. There are fighting pits all over the island, as well as dojos teaching various martial arts styles. Within one of those dojos on this particular day sat Raphael, cross-legged and with closed eyes. He had arrived in the dojo the day before and had already been a burden on all those within it. Raphael had spent his entire stay at the dojo enthusiastically training, trying to learn anything he possibly could. This would've been a welcome addition to the dojo if he hadn't been so obnoxious about it. The other students were very put off by Raphael's enthusiasm, as they had been forced to serve as his sparring partners for his seemingly endless training session. Now that he was finally resting, a few of the students decided that they would force him to leave their dojo, tired of his presence.
Eight trainees stood behind the resting Raphael, about three meters behind him as he sat in the middle of the dojo on a small pillow. The dojo was completely empty aside from these nine, as the sensei and the stronger students were all out at the fighting pits. Raphael had stayed behind with the weaker students, with the intention of challenging the sensei when he returned. One of the braver students began to approach Raphael, entering the stance that was typically employed in the dojo's fighting style; which most closely resembled that of a kickboxer. "HAAAAA" The bold man yelled before jumping into the air once he was directly behind Raphael, throwing out a flying kick aimed at the back of the pirate's head. 'Why would he be dumb enough to yell?' Raphael thought as he opened his eyes, rolling forward the moment he heard the other man get close.
Rolling forward from a seated position requires a certain amount of force to be used with both the arms and legs; and the resultant momentum of that force carried Raphael as he rolled, catching himself by planting both hands on the ground and using them to propel himself into the air. Once Raphael was in the air, he would proceed with a series of overly flashy acrobatic maneuvers before landing on his feet facing the eight fighters that had planned to attack him. "You guys wanted to spar again? You could've just asked." The trainee whose attack Raphael had avoided picked himself up from the ground, getting into his stance, "You cocky bastard, we'll kick your ass." All eight fighters got into identical kickboxing stances, while Raphael simply watched them curiously as he stretched his arms in preparation for the fight.
"Arrgh" The first of Raphael's eight opponents yelled as he charged at him at full speed, his guard covering his face, and his knees bent low. His plan was obvious and simple, simply run over Raphael and trample him with his 12-foot tall frame. The thought behind it made a bit of sense, as the 22-year-old man must've easily weighed over 1000 pounds and was definitely around the same level of strength as Raphael. The main flaw in his plan was his lack of speed, as Raphael was able to easily interrupt his charge by launching forward, colliding with the younger man after swinging his knee into the gut of his opponent with all of his might. The damage from the hit was enough to stun the young man, but it wasn't able to cause any significant harm. The only marked the beginning of Raphael's attack though, as the knee would be immediately followed by a brutal uppercut from the young thief. The difference between the student's ability to take damage and Raphael's ability to dish it out were not far apart, but Raphael's speed helped to create a gap between the two fighters, as he would be able to dish out combinations just fast enough that his opponent couldn't intercept or avoid them. As the other seven students watched, stunned by the brutal display, Raphael finished off the first and largest of his opponents. A kick to the groin caused the larger man to fall to his knees, where Raphael would take advantage of his newfound height advantage by grabbing the head of his opponent before slamming his forehead into the nose of the poor fool. As the man fell, Raphael wiped his forehead, cleaning off the other man's blood with a piece of his tunic.
As he wiped his face, the remaining students watched him carefully. Two of the students began to step forward, before being stopped by Raphael's words, "Really? Do you guys have no honor? It baffles me that not a single one of you pathetic kids could beat me one on one." It was a last-ditch effort to bait one of the students in all honesty, as Raphael was unsure whether he'd be able to actually be victorious in a fight against multiple trained opponents. His combat experience was limited and these students had all be training almost as long as he had. Luckily, he was up against a group of prideful men, and warriors to boot. "Of course we wouldn't team up on you, I'm gonna kick your ass on my own right now." The oldest of the group stepped forward to face Raphael, keeping his guard up and beginning to jump up and down as if to pump himself up. "Well aren't you a fine warrior." Raphael's face twisted into a grin as he ran at full speed towards his opponent, throwing out a jab hitting his opponent square in the face. His right arm would fly out from his southpaw stance once more following the jab, this time with his index and middle fingers extended towards his opponents eyes at lightning speed. Before anyone was able to notice what he had done, Raphael then delivered a powerful elbow to the face of his newly blind foe, knocking him unconscious just as his fellow student had.
"Hey, you're fighting dirty. You poked him in the eyes!" One of the remaining students cried out in indignation. Raphael did his best to look offended at the student's words as he stealthily wiped the blood from his two fingers onto the inside of is tunic by pretending to scratch himself. "I did no such thing, and if you don't believe me then you can check his eye sockets yourself." Everyone looked over at the recently dispatched man, as he lay there face down on the floor. Blood pooled slightly beneath his face but as none of his features were visible it was unclear if the blood came from unsportsmanlike eye-poking or a typical blood nose. Raphael, as well as the man who had called him out, walked to the downed man as the remaining students watched intently. Raphael knew that he was now in a bad position, as the moment the students realized what he had done he would lose the illusion of there being a fair fight. The two men knelt over the body, and Raphael grabbed the man's hair in order to pick up his unconscious body. Once Raphael raised the man's head up, the man who had called out Raphael's cheating was face to face with his comrade; who's eyes looked very damaged from Raphael's fingers. Taking advantage of his opponent's stunned state at seeing what had happened to his friend, Raphael would slam the heads of the two men together by pushing forward the head of the unconscious man. The two men collided with a sickening crack which Raphael could only savor for a moment before all hell broke loose.
The remaining five students all descended on Raphael at once, with two of the men immediately grabbing his arms, rendering him unable to escape or defend himself. The remaining three men then took the opportunity to begin wailing on Raphael, assaulting him with brutal blows to the body as well as head rattling strikes to the head. By the end of the onslaught, Raphael was held up only by the two men holding his arms, as the will to stand up had long been beaten out of him. As the two men holding Raphael up allowed him to fall, at last, the senior members of the dojo as well as the Grandmaster returned from a day at the fighting pits. "What the hell happened here?" The grand-master would yell to his students at the sight of the 4 defeated men on the floor of his dojo. "This stranger that's been here these last few days, we got sick of his attitude so we decided to spar with him, and he used underhanded tactics to injure Watanabe and the others. We finally had enough and worked together to punish him for his actions."
"Oh my. Someone go get help for these men immediately. I knew it was a mistake to let this man stay here without knowing his motives. My trusting nature has caused my students to be harmed, and I am so sorry for that." The grand-master of the dojo looked horribly saddened by what had happened to his students, and he could only blame himself. "Sensei, there is no way that you would've known that he'd actually hurt anyone, the best thing we can do now is make sure the others are ok and get him out of her-"
"Hey old man."

To the surprise of everyone within the dojo, Raphael managed to rise to his feet once the three men he had defeated were carried away by their allies. "If you're so pissed about me beating on your pathetic students, why don't you come and get revenge for them." Raphael knew that pissing off the grand-master further could only end poorly, but what could he say; he was a glutton for punishment. The eyes of the grand-master were filled with fire as he gazed upon the beaten form of Raphael. "You know what, since you're begging for it I'll oblige and kick your young tail directly out of my dojo." This caused Raphael's grin to grow even wider as he watched the old man take off his gi, revealing his truly muscular form hidden underneath. "Look who's finally ready to play with me, this is what I've been waiting for all day."
The two men took up their combat stances 3 meters away from one another. To everyone in the dojo the outcome of this battle was clear; with Raphael's heavily breathing and bloody form looking completely unprepared for this battle with the sensei of the dojo. When compared to the strong and muscular form of the grand-master, Raphael looked completely out of his depth. Still, he smiled widely while maintaining eye contact with his opponent. "Let's do this geezer." The old man remained silent, too furious to speak. No one uttered a word, as the focus was entirely on action. Raphael made the first move, forcing himself to charge towards his opponent defying every instinct screaming at him to avoid this interaction. Fear was a natural response to the presence of an overwhelming difference in strength, designed to warn a warrior when he was far out of his depth. Raphael was aware of this, and still pushed forward, ignoring his fear. Raphael stopped once he was face to face with his opponent, crouching down low before launching himself into his opponents chin. The grand-master simply avoided by stepping backwards, doing so in such a quick and fluid manner that neither Raphael nor any of the spectating students were able to see him move.
The moment his right foot hit the ground behind his original position, he launched a roundhouse kick; his shin connecting with the side of Raphael's face and sending him flying across the room. Raphael soared through the air, nearly colliding with the wall of the dojo before recovering and landing on his feet. 'Shit, I was actually unconscious for a second.' Raphael wasn't surprised that the grand-master was strong, but he was a monster. "You're strong old man, I'm shoc-" The fist of the grand-master cut off Raphael's words by connecting with his mouth, knocking out 2 of his teeth. "This is a battlefield, do not speak when you should be fighting." Raphael was pushed back by the punch, so far in fact that he suspected there was something more than strength pushing him away, but his borrowed gi was immediately grabbed by the grand-master. Pulling Raphael towards himself, the grand-master forced his fist into the young pirate's gut. After his fist collided, an extremely powerful blast of wind flying out from his fist into Raphael's stomach. This blast nearly sent Raphael flying once again, and only didn't because of the grand-master's vice-like grip on his clothing. Loosening his grip on the gi after the strike, he allowed Raphael to fall to his knees defeated.
The grand-master turned away from Raphael to address his students. "A few days ago I did you all a disservice by allowing this menace to stay here. My mistake caused some of you to be injured and for that I am truly sorry. I hope that by defeating this man I have at the very least shown how regretful I am." The students were teary-eyed as they listened to their beloved master speak,"Of course sensei, we forgive you!" The students and sensei then engaged in a group hug. As the group embraced, Raphael once again struggled to his feet. The main premise behind the development of Kyotoryu was Raphael learning from his surroundings to transform his body into a weapon. From observing the attacks that he had just faced, he had thought of a way to replicate them. 'Kyotoryu: Wind Bullet' Swinging his fist at the group, Raphael sent out from his fist a decent-sized blast of wind in their direction.
The grand-master's senses were more astute than Raphael had anticipated however, as he was able to break away from the group hug and simply swat away Raphael's new attack. Raphael was not ready to give up however, as he immediately crouched down in order to build energy before launching himself at the grand-master. "Kyotoryu: Human Bullet!" As Raphael moved towards the grand-master at an enhanced speed, his arms would extend in front of him as both of his hands formed into claws. "Shinji-Ryu: Seiken" Using a named attack for the first time during his battle with Raphael, the grand-master attacked with a powerful straight punch that connected with the pirate's jaw in midair and stopped him in his tracks. "Shinji-Ryu: Grand Explosion" A powerful blast of wind, much stronger than either Raphael's or his own previous blasts, shot out from his fist. This blast of wind carried Raphael away from its source, sending him flying directly through the wall of the dojo. There was a massive explosion, and the group lost sight of Raphael as dust and debris flew everywhere. Once the dust cleared the grand-master and his students ran to the wall he had crashed into, finding a massive hole and no sign of Raphael anywhere. Raphael himself had been knocked unconscious and sent flying by the wind, landing a fair 10 meters away from the dojo, lying in a safe patch of grass where none of his enemies were looking for him.
