DAMAGE This system will detail how damage is received and how certain Attributes interact with one another from a competitive standpoint .
DAMAGE* Players will take damage based on how their Endurance & Durability Attribute stands up to the Strength & Power/Devil Fruit rating of the attack they receive. There are five stages of damage. Just because damage doesn't reach a Fatal rating, doesn't mean it cannot kill, this is just to measure the intensity of damage done with a single attack, not the result.
Minor: Wounds that you can brush off without missing a beat. Knicks, scrapes, scratches, maybe some light bruising.
Moderate:
Impact/Blunt: Fair bruises, maybe minor bone fracture or cracks.
Slashing: Cuts into the muscle, but not to bone.
Heat: 2nd degree burns.
Misc: Acids and chemicals can eat away the epidermis and a bit into muscle, but nothing too severe.
Major:
Impact/Blunt: Bone breaks and forces that cause heavy trauma and potentially a loss of consciousness if a head strike.
Slashing: Muscle cuts to the bone. Can cut off smaller appendages like forearms or below the knee.
Heat: 3rd degree burns.
Misc: Acids and chemicals can eat away muscle fibers. Poisons and bleeding that is left untreated can cause death after 6 post.
[/ul]
Severe**: Horrendous damage like a lost limb, but can be recovered from.
Impact/Blunt: Multiple bone breaks or potential limb removal from blunt force.
Slashing: Slashing attacks can sever limbs as thick as an arm, leg, or neck.
Heat: Burns through skin, muscle, and even scorches organs.
Misc: Acids and chemicals can disintegrate flesh and bone. Poisons and bleeding that is left untreated can cause death after 5 post.
Fatal: Leaves the target at death's door.
Impact/Blunt: Completely punched through.
Slashing: Can cut through a large section like the torso horizontally or vertically.
Heat: The heat can erase flesh and turn bones to ash.
Misc: Acids and chemicals can disintegrate flesh and bone. Poisons and bleeding that is left untreated can cause death after 3 post.
[/ul]
*Attacks that target bypass the epidermis and skeletal structure to directly attack innards such as Law's Gamma Knife, Reject and Impact Dials, Rokugan, etc deal damage as if the target's Endurance & Durability were a single Sub-Tier lower. **If First-Aid isn't administered within 5 posts, Severe wounds advance to Fatal.
ATTRIBUTE VS ATTRIBUTE* Based on the difference between the Sub-Tiers (E-, E, D-, E+, etc), Attributes will interact with each other in a variety of ways.
STRENGTH & POWER VS ENDURANCE & DURABILITY
-3: Null
-2 - -1: Minor
0 - +1: Moderate - Major
+2: Major
+3: Major - Severe
+4: Severe
+5: Severe - Fatal
+6: Fatal
SPEED & AGILITY VS PERCEPTION & WITS
+3: Hardly perceivable unless focused solely on the object in question. +1 Accuracy or Evasion Advantage
+4: A blur, hardly able to be seen. +2 Accuracy or Evasion Advantages
+5: Unable to be visually perceived.+3 Accuracy or Evasion Advantages
*+3 would be equivalent to E- vs E+
RECOVERY After taking damage, it is important to heal. Healing happens naturally as real time passes, but through use of the First-Aid Job Trait, healing can be sped up. Debuffs aren't shed until Recovery is complete.
