The day's had gone by since Yota left his home island, and first impressions? It's a lot easier to breathe without all the floating rust particles. He had hailed onto one of the trade ships they had done deals with for years, asking for a favor to convey a 20 foot tall man and his tools to wherever their next stop was. The days and nights passed like a silent breeze because Yota was unbelievably bored out of his mind the whole time. He was never the social type ever since his childhood, so with nothing to do on this ship even if some looked on at this mutant in amazement. Some tried to start up conversation with him but he would give the shortest possible responses to just end it right there. He didn't spend much time with his tools, without a furnace there was not much he could practice. This was when he realized that maybe he didn't plan far ahead enough to have the proper work station while he's out travelling for inspiration.
The smooth sailing of the ocean however gave him a small idea of how it was to be an adventurer on the ocean. While he may have been alone he felt free, so much more liberated than ever before on Blight Cap. He couldn’t wait until he would be able to get his hands on a proper workstation. He would need a ship however, and most likely a custom made one to hold his tools and set up an office big enough for him. He hopes wherever it is he winds up he can get a shipwright to make such a ship. The cost of getting one done though, most likely was not going to be cheap. He inquired over with the captain of the ship as to where they had theirs built but she herself wasn’t sure, they just worked for the shipping ports of their island.
He could get used to sailing out, but everything seems to be linking to the same thing, money. Money for a ship, money for materials, money for food and essentials, money seems to be at the core of it all. Maybe if he can find someone to fund or some form of benefactor to supply the cash as he works on his own free will to become better than before he could really get a boost. Of course to get someone to fund him he would need to increase his skills tremendously and consistently, so suppose he’s on his own for the time being. The sun was high at the center of the sky between the horizons. The heat beating down on them all making everyone more tired and restless. Looks like there isn’t much to entertain people on these ships aside from one another while you sail, he’ll certainly keep that in mind.

Within a few blinks before he knew it the navigator shouted out at the top of their lungs peering through a cheap looking telescope. “Land! We’re approaching Dak Dak island, everyone get ready to anchor!” Within those few commands the crew ran about, all headed to where they belonged, pulling on ropes and some preparing a chain or two. Running around the giant man who was simply sitting down in the middle of their deck munching on some old dried and salted bird meat. He watched them work together in coordination, it somewhat reminded him of home as everyone else worked together whilst he did his own thing. Truly not even gonna for more than a week and was already feeling a bit homesick, how sad. He shouldn’t let it slow him down, because this on its own is the first stepping stone to it all.
The crew members began to dock onto the side of the island, piloting the ship to ease horizontally to be parallel to the shore. The anchor was dropped into the water, a loud splash echoing through as the heavy hunk of metal slammed against the surface of the water making the water break painting the side of the boat and some of the sand on the land. The sails were raised up and holstered to avoid the wind from messing with them while they would be inactive. Yota paid it hardly any mind as the captain barked out some orders. People went down into the ship and came back up with some tarps and rods, then crates of supplies coming up. Standing up Yota began to stretch lightly, cracking his back and snapping whatever he could to feel refreshed. His mind set was focused on one thing, and that being getting himself familiarized with this so-called ‘plant life’ he has heard so much about.
The crew were piling out from the ship like molasses through a funnel, he watched on seeing the one who led the crew through the waters, the navigator, seemed so content with themselves. Little did Yota know a ship had many components to it in terms of the crew, they all had their roles in it like a giant functioning machine. From the Captain at the top to even the swabby down at the bottom of the barrel, but in the end every role is needed for different reasons to guide a ship. Would he even be okay on his own? Would he be able to find out where to go if he got his hands on a ship? Suppose he had to learn a lot more than just blacksmithing if he wanted to survive out here in the world on his lonesome. Cooking food was also something not on his agenda growing up, he’s aware you place the food to a heat source, but he’s pretty sure it isn’t like blacksmithing where you smack down on the food with a hammer on an anvil.
His days went by faster than he had seen, being too occupied running a group of thieves to run their island up and survive he never really learned any life skills, or social skills either. All he knew was the forge and the hammer he wielded to whack someone on their head that he wore strapped to his back. He eventually joined the flow of people leaving the deck of the ship, merging in to board off and invite the island to himself. First thing to shock him was a sandy beach that wasn't red in rust, the sand was your every day sand of the beige variety, hot and sharp as it crunched under his feet beneath his weight. One was sure if he stood still for an hour he would form glass underneath the soles of his shoes from the pressure of his weight. His eyes scanned about, already adjusting to the lighting of normal every day life was terrible, being underneath a cloud of rust all day helped kept things dim.
Looking down he reached to grab one of the shoulders of the sailors, "Hey, ummm, do you know if there's towns nearby? I want to look around for a bit." he spoke out with the deep rumble of his voice. The sailor looked up and kind of just pointed in a general direction towards the inside of the island to respond, "Just follow the paths until you get to about a small town, you'll know when you get theres big guy." his eyes focused over the horizon. Yota simply nodded and began to walk, lugging the sack full of his tools behind him, his eyes opening wide he kept his vision primarily onto the ground as strange as that may sound. What was demanding the horned man's attention was the ground itself, it seemed so soft and fertile with minerals sprinkled along it, as well as the odd swords of green jutting out from it. However they refused to pierce his shoe, they bent at the presence of his foot, so he found the purpose of the blades quite futile, but they were rather attractive. Was this these so called plants? They resembled the things sat on top of the wood growing out of the ground, swaying in the subtle winds pushing them to one direction. The steps of his feet stepping down on grass, the wind blowing through his hair, then even the light assaulting his corneas, they were all simple pleasures as he traversed this small island.
Eventually he found one of the towns start to show up, buildings jutted up made of a thick wood, and trees resembling said wood surrounded the entirety of the town. Growing up tall forming large pillars reaching up to the heavens, making a nice comfortable shadow over the town with their leaves resembling the clouds. The town was rather large, and plentiful of houses and small buildings resembling a form of community commute for vending and all sorts of other necessities. However what was met into his eyes was one of the oddest things he had ever seen, humans roamed this island that much was evident, but they all had extremely long arms! An additional joint extended past where their hands would normally be making much longer arms with two elbows for them to bend and use. So it wasn't even their arms were longer to reach the floor, they had additional bones to go with the whole mix of odd. Yota kinda reeled back looking at them move their arms about as he got closer, making sounds resembling those of slight discomfort and disgust like, "Ehhhhyhhh..." his face showing an expression of disapproval. Who were these people, did the plague rains do this to them as well? Suppose in a more open island it was bound for more to be exposed to the rains than when he was at Blight Cap.
He began to merge into the people, they all began to look up at him as he walked down the dirt road. Their face quite the opposite, being one of amazement and wonder as their smiles are open wide and shining. Some begin to clap their hands and approach Yota getting closer as they did a hybrid form of a skip and a hop to bounce towards him in their sheer excitement. "Woah! Welcome to Dak Dak, you ugly bastard! I hope you can enjoy your visit, we know you're visiting cause you sure as hell don't look like anyone we know." Spoke out one of the invaders of his space, a long armed man wearing an open shirt adorned with a topical flower pattern, his hair slicked back tight and shades resting on the top of his head. His shorts were beige with a tough texture, most likely to endure whatever they have to go through on a daily basis, such interesting apparel. Majority of them actually appeared to be quite relaxed or in festive attire rather than greased up and dirty in work clothing. This was an oddity of such vibrant clothes to Yota, in his experience you wore what you had on for work, whether it be to do your job or to fight a fight. So this style of clothes was certainly new to him. Don't think Yota didn't hear the ugly bastard comment, he simply doesn't care for one insulting him in that way, his appearance doesn't matter to him and it never did, it also helps when you did not have many clear mirrors back on your home island growing up so you did not become accustomed to checking yourself often.
"Alright then, umm, my name is Y-" Yota was calmly responding only to be abruptly cut off with a hand waving around to him as he stared down at the man. "Ehhh, alright shut up will ya? How about we get things started with a little tooooouuuur! I'll show you around the place and our way of life, maybe give us some of your money through some business and go about your day you horned ugly demon." Although the mixed feelings Yota was having he doubt cracking open this man's skull wide open would really solve anything or get the other long armed freaks onto his side to work with him. He nodded in response to the much shorter man, letting him lead the way through his town. He began to explain how the island is primarily a jungle island, so they've used the jungle trees to form homes, and they kept the color aesthetic of the jungle to maintain a subtle blend in scenery. No one really painted their homes, they let it all stand up structured al la natural. Unlike Yota's home their was hardly any metal found, to them metals were a much nicer item and considered a luxury for much better items. The best here have tools made of metal to help them work more efficiently, so quite contrary to what he is accustomed to his sack practically clanged with the amount of metal that was in it, another reason why many stopped to stare. "All of this is thanks to the Five Great Families you huge monster! They've come here and have blessed our lands with productivity and work, thanks to them we are where we are today. They take care of us, feed us, give to us, we can live in such comfort thanks to them and praise be! Heheh, although looking at you you've had plenty to eat haven't yahs." The long arm spewed nonstop in delight over these so called Great Families, they were news to him. This sounded a bit familiar to Yota, his ears twitched in response interested in the outcome of what this may be. So he raised his hand to his chin and pondered, then opened his mouth to question, "Just who are the Families? I have never heard of them before in my life." The expression followed suit from the long arm was that of complete shock as they walked down the roads. He wrapped his obscenely long arm around the hip of Yota and was happy to indulge him. "You haven't heard, well they're simply...!"
"They're simply none of your damn business ya stinkin' outsider!~" The Long-Arm male had a chimp like expression on his face as he said this. "Alright I'm joking... haha no I'm only half joking." He'd let go of Yota's waist after giving the behemoth a quick rap of taps to come down to his level where he held a cupped hand to his mouth. "You seem like good people, so I'll let you in on a secret. Don't go asking about the Five Greats like they're some sort of rock band ya dunce!" He'd shout in Yota's ear should the beast have brought his ear down for a good listen. "They're a dangerous bunch to get tied into greenie. Most I can tell you is that if you keep looking for em, they'll find you before you find them." The long-arm would skip a few paces forward to push along their tour. "There." He'd point to a two story wooden structure a bit further down the dirt road. "If ya really wanna get someone's tongue cut out for yapping, try buying some drinks for the locals. Or if ya looking for the other kind of loose lips, you can find those there too if your brain can catch what I'm sayin' hahaha!~"
Yota quickly stuck his pinky into his ear and began to try to pop it open it to stop the ringing after it was yelled into like a megaphone. Shaking his head to clear it up a bit he kept listening to what he had to say. Looking at where that far extended finger pointed at Yota nodded in response, knowing what he must do. If he wanted to know some more about this place he'd have to buy drinks, the old fashioned bribery with an old fashioned on the rocks. "Alright I appreciate the advice you confusing people. " He straightened his back to start heading over to the bar, that was until the long arm got his attention once more. "Wait before you go, one more tip!" He shouted, forcing a reaction from Yota to look over his shoulder. Only to witness the tour man was flipping him off with both hands with a wide grin going, "Ehhh? Ehhh, ehhh?" The whole time Yota stared at him, soon turning back to walk down the road to the building.
It was tall compared to most of the buildings here. He was prepared for whatever the hell awaited inside, because it couldn't be any odder than what was out here, the armed freaks staring at the big horned freak. They seemed like normal people, just their proportions were really odd, thought the twenty foot mutant as he was leaving the road and crouched down to push through the door of the bar. A shock and gasp could be heard in the bar as this behemoth came in, he tried to straighten his back but he couldn't as the ceiling was too low for him to even straighten it out to stand up. So he had to take small steps wile being slightly crouched and hunched over through the bar, his horns grinding against the ceiling slightly when he forgets to keep his ducked further down. Trying no to step onto anyone or anything he slowly works his way to the bar, looking at the bar stools he let out a grunt and a groan only to finally grab the stools and push them aside. Allowing himself to sit down on the floor criss cross and still be able to see over the counter his head still towards the ceiling. Letting out a sigh of defeat he looked around and at the bartender who seemed to be rather furious. He sported a black jacket over a simple plain white tee with a bit of a beer belly, whatever was below Yota couldn't see.
"Hey! What's the big idea you big mistake! Coming in here like you own the place? Well that's where you are wrong! Cause I own this place! ME! John Palinky!" The bartender clearly was not amused in the slightest by Yota's huge presence occupying so much space. His face beet red and his hands being thrown everywhere in a rage as he stomped left to right shaking up a few of the empty glasses behind him. Yota let out a sigh and reached into his pocket, pulling out a small wallet with a much larger strap on it for his usability to open up the wallet. With a pop of the big metal button the wallet slapped open, he started to grab a few bills from his wallet. Counting it out on the tip of his fingers as he licked them to slide the bills around while counting. Then finally hitting down the counter top with 50,000 Beli, sliding it to the angry bartender whose expression immediately calmed down and went to a smile. "Ooooh, what can I get yoooou big stranger?" His tone completely shifting from one of aggression to calm and relaxed with cheer. Yota responded with the same tone of voice he always uses, "Get a round of whatever everyone is drinking here and get me a large mug of lager. I'll let you know what to do with the excess afterwards." the bartender started to work fast without even moving his feet as his arms could reach everything around him grabbing it to make any cocktails and mixes.
One of the drinkers beside him had been butting their big nose into the conversation, quite literally as his nose was about the size of a pickle and turned red at the very tip. His somewhat distorted face as a bit of his saliva booze mix was dripping from the side of his mouth like drool. He raised up his cup into the air and stood a top the stool. "H-hey, everyone.... this huge fuck right here! This good for nothing.... just bought us a b-b-b-bunch of drinks! Let's give it up for the ugly bastard! Hip hip! OoooOoOOooohhh fuck....." He exclaimed form the top of his drunken lungs as he began to twirl and swirl on his stool until he toppled over like a spinning top. Hitting the floor everyone in the bar shouted in unison screaming and hollering, some beating on their chests like a bunch of apes. Yota did a short laugh, then looking over his shoulder to see everyone behind him. The bar was pretty nice actually, no rust and things are made of this legendary wood Yota has heard so much about. Only seen from the incoming ships from other islands, tables littered the floor hardly even organized. Seems the bigger amounts of people sat at the round tables to squeeze in together while small er personal groups sat at small square ones for 2-4 people. The inside was painted in white with a light blue trim, although some of the paint was eroded the place clearly needed a touch up.
Bringing his face back to the counter top the large mug of lager was in front of him on a coaster, nice dark and thick like syrup. Grabbing the handle of the glass mug he started to drink it down feeling the rich cold taste run down his tongue and throat covering the walls of his throat. He slowly removed the mug from his lips placing it back down on the counter, however missing the coaster and letting the mug sit on the raw counter top. The bartender crouched down to the counter eye level looking at the mug, then at the coaster, then at the mug, then at the coaster, then at Yota. "Who do you think you are are? This ain't no zoo, act like you got some manners ya shit head!" He shouted while grabbing the mug and slapping it onto the coaster, immediately wiping up the water ring left behind with his cotton rag. Mumbling came form the short tempered man, Yota didn't understand exactly, did wood rust like metal or something for water to not be on it? Either way he looked back at the bartender, getting a response of an angered face with bulging eyes. "What are YOU looking at, can't you see I'm making all the drinks you just ordered? Making me work, mph." He shook two different shakers at once one in each hand while spewing atrocities from his mouth. Yota soon interrupted his furious ramblings by tapping the wood on the counter with his large index finger like a hammer.
"Tell me bartender, are you good for information?" The bartenders shaking grew slower, as he began to somewhat process what was happening here. Pouring out the mixed drinks into two small glasses and serving them up on a tray followed by a ding of a bell behind him, one of the waitresses came up grabbing the tray shaking her hips side to side swaying with the beverages. The bartender squinted his eyes at the horned human, his hands didn't stop working however, it's like he had his bar fully memorized as he grabbed the liquors and mixes he needed from around him without looking. "I'll get back to you on that, I don't spit information, but one of my best clients does. He keeps a high profile but his trades are low. Don't even tell me what you want to know, I don't wanna get involved." His mood seemed to mellow out, just focusing on his craft as he muddled a cherry down in a tall glass. Whilst Yota waited for the bartender to continue something made his ears twitch, 'Rock... Amber Rock' Yota closed his eyes trying to focus to hear who was speaking. A table close behind him, three people a guy and two girls talking over something called Amber Rock. He tried his hardest to listen in to their conversation, was this a type of ore he could possibly acquire?

He closed up and focused to those talking behind him, their words were slurred and spotted with the occasional stagger or hiccup interrupting their sentence. "W-well did, did- did you hear abo-bo-bout our mate Jack?" bumbled the initiator of the topic, swaying from left to right with a tall glass of a long island was the best way to describe the drink. The Glass glistened with precipitation and the ice cubes clinked on the off note as he pushed them around with the unorganized movement s and swaying of his hand holding it. The small little leaf made umbrella on top grinding against the rim like this was some sort of skating bowl on the edge. With a chuckle and his facial blush deepening he stared down at his friend awaiting for a response. The other, much taller and thinner shook his head no with a grunt sounding of a rejected tone, his arm basically wrapped around his own body spiraling up to his own mouth pouring in a large mug of what seems to be a very dark rum, one sniff and all of the spices of the world would be in your nostrils for one brief moment.
The first one with his hair matted to his forehead and a much tanner complexion with dark freckles covering his cheeks continued to blather on, "Well, Jack just got some freshly picked A-amber Ssssstone ore, and he is getting the Jew-je-j-j-jeweler Manny to make him a nice... *hic* niiiice little wedding ring, with a ffff-FAT white pearl on it. Like a FUCKing marble, that big on a little ring for his lady friend." The tall one licked the remaining of the outpouring rum up and settled down his mug looking back down at his friend, "Sheesh, a pearl AND amber stone? He really going all outs heres for his lady friend. She must bes reals specials aye, Amber Stone just so pretty, anyone would pay top belis fr some of that sweet rock for themselves." The two then began to giggle like a pair of school girls sharing a nice thick juicy piece of gossip as they then began to joke around. Reenacting a vague representation of how their friend proposed and the female being all girly and in shock fluttering their eye lashes. However to Yota this was all he needed to hear, so their was some value to being here on this island after all to look into his black smith interest, a nice ore that is very appealing. He may need to get his hands on some of that and possible even some pieces for examples and remembrances in the future as to how the ore looks like finished!
Now he knew what he truly would like to ask about late when he hunts down some of that ore to fill up his large sack he carries around. Locking up his thoughts he opened his eyes again to continue drinking the lager in front of him chugging nearly half of it down swiftly, goosebumps rising up through his body covering his skin. The tender looked up at Yota's head nearly against the ceiling, narrowed his eyes and then began to rummage behind him through some jugs and then going to a barrel. "I'm this place's bartender for a reason big guy, and that's beside all the money I paid off to get rid of competition from my locals. I can read someone's taste craving pretty well, and you aren't a liquor guy, no not at all. You like something sweet dontcha, well here, on Dak Dak we have this special fruit called a Lada Berry that grows here and we make it with some mead and it makes some of the best, sweetest, strongest booze you'll have here in the west blue. It's so popular I get some shipments sent out for profit, and even have casks aging in the basement for the high bidders. Now don't tell anyone I told you about it, we tend to be greedy about our Ju-ju juice, that's what we call the drink. So we only let outsiders drink if they find out about, also don't feel so smug about it either!" When the man finally shut his trap and poured out a wide jug of the stuff Yota kinda looked at it skeptically. He sniffed at and gave it a few look overs, the nice rich color of the fruit had overtaken the mead, t clearly would stain someones clothes to hell if a single drop got onto it.
