After washing up on Atmos Island unconscious, Diego remained in that state for a short time, regaining his energy in the process. Once he finally did wake, he'd jump to his feet immediately, entering his combat stance. "Maria!" Diego shouted the name of the woman who had led him into life as a bandit, falling to his knees once he remembered what had happened. "Maria...Shaki, Lance, everyone's gone." Diego was overwhelmed by emotion, the realization that his entire clan was probably dead beneath the waves causing a shock that had the gigantic man sobbing violently. As Diego cried openly on the shores of Atmos Island, with no one in sight for kilometers in every direction, he questioned what he would do now. "I don't know what I'm supposed to even do with myself now, my entire clan is dead, and all because of the Holy Army." Once the name of the accursed military force entered his mind, all of Diego's sadness was covered by rage. "Those bastards will pay for what they did to my clan. I'm going to get an army of my own and burn down the Church of Svon along with every noble home on Judge Island. Every single one of them will die by my hand!" Of course, Diego was hurt as he made his bold declaration, screaming loudly into the silent icy landscape of the island, but what else could he feel. When all that a man holds dear is taken away from him, vengeance is his only option. Diego meant every word he said, and he would begin assembling an army of his own very soon. That would have to wait, however, as at the moment Diego felt it necessary to return to the one thing the Holy Army hadn't been able to take away from him. Even if he hadn't trained as frequently during his time with his clan as he had in the past, Diego's love of training had never dwindled. An intense training session was exactly the sort of thing Diego needed to try and distract himself from the tragedy he had just experienced, not to mention that getting stronger would be an essential part of executing his plan to challenge the Holy Army.
If there was one thing Diego was talented at, it would be training. While he was never one to pick things up immediately, Diego has been referred to as a genius of hard work due to his ability and willingness to work as hard as he needs to in order to improve. A symptom of his natural desire and dedication, once Diego starts a training session they usually last until he falls unconscious, since the large man refuses to simply give up even in the form of taking a short break from his training. This was showcased by Diego right after he decided to train on Atmos Island, as he would stand up from his kneeling position before immediately sprinting off away from the shore into the forest that made up a large portion of Atmos' landscape. Diego had spent a significant portion of his life strictly weight training, but he knew that he would have to find new ways to increase his strength if he wanted to fight the Holy Army. Diego charged into the forest, jumping forward putting his knee in front of his body as he collided with a large tree. The tree fell immediately from Diego's strength, and the wood was damaged by the strength of Diego's attack. WC: 585
