Name: Volva the Witch Type: INPC Rank: E Gender: Female Race: Human Faction: Free Agent Description: Specifically for this task, there's not much to go off of for Volva. Name: Basher the Drunk Type: INPC Rank: D Gender: Male Race: Human Faction: Civilian Description: As his name says, Basher is a well-known alcoholic on Atmos Island. FIRST CARNATION
THE SHAMAN OF BATTLE
Carnation woke up on that day like any other day. She climbed out of her oddly comfortable pile of trash in between the local bar and a brothel and onto the streets of Atmos Island. See, despite the fact that she recently found an employer, he had very little to promise her in terms of quick cash and since that's what she needed, she was out of luck. Not being able to pay for another night in the room she was renting, Carnation had to resort to drastic measures. Drastic measures being sleeping on the street, which really isn't that crazy all things considered. Somehow, she was able to find a nice and soft comfortable pile of trash on this freezing cold island and got a full night's worth of sleep. The smell stopped bothering her eventually and once that happened she basically claimed the rest of the alley as her own.
Anyways, in the current moment, the street that she wondered out onto was much different in the day than it was in the night. When Carnation was looking for a place to stay, there was very little to nobody outside and it was basically dead silent. During the day though, there were markets open, people wandering the streets, people trying to sell you stuff, girls trying to seduce you. It really makes one wondering what the deal was during the night that people holed up in their houses rather than carouse in the streets. Another thing that Carnation had noticed was the fact that there wasn't really much chatter going on. She has been to a many islands and a lot of them had streets like the one she was on, but people would tend to talk each other about all sorts of things. But not here. Here, if you weren't purchasing something or peddling something, you weren't saying a word. Every kept their mouth shut and kept to themselves for the most part. However, there was one person in particular that following this unspoken rule more than anyone else there.
Down the street, roughly 15 meters from where Carnation was standing, was a very mysterious person. The reason behind this labeling is the fact that they walked through the streets in a black cloak with their head towards the ground. Not only that, but the people around them seemed to always move around this person rather then let them fall into the crowd, meaning that they were somewhat known by the populace of the area or else they would just be apart of the crowd like everybody else. There was this sort of air to them as well that made them pop out, though this can mainly be chalked up to the attire that the person was wearing. They walked with a slight limp, which only gave Carnation more questions than answers. Oh, remember that part where everyone seemed to be avoiding this person. Well, that wast partly untrue, as there was currently a walking mass of muscle making a beeline straight towards them, a glass bottle in hand. This man catching her eye, the Skypiean slowly made her way in his direction to see how this was going to play out.
Hopefully, peacefully, but it was highly unlikely on this island.

FIRST CARNATION
THE SHAMAN OF BATTLE
"Hey! What did I say last time you came down here, huh?" The man's voice roarer throughout the street, the echo bouncing off the walls of buildings that lined the streets. His voice was hoarse and his speech was mean and had impact, emphasizing every syllable that escaped him mouth. He brought the bottle up to his lips and took a few sips of it before dropping his arm back down to his side, a few drops of the liquid dripping from both the bottle and his mouth onto the dirt road. He brought up his other hand and wiped his face, little specs of spit and liquid flying in the person's direction. "Cause if my memory is correct, I said something along the lines of 'Don't come back around here again.' I already made sure your leg doesn't work no more, but I don't think I did anythin' to your hearing." All of a sudden, his free hand shoots out and grabs the person by the top of their head, the man being able to palm the whole thing and lift them a few inches off the ground. An audible squeal of pain can be heard coming from the person as their arms reached up and attempted to release the man's grip, however it was to no avail. "However, if your not gonna use those ears of yours maybe I should just rip em off, huh?"
What Carnation found crazy in this situation was, not really a surprise to her, the fact that nobody was intervening. It's not like people around didn't see what was happening, but more so the fact that they thought hey had no business in what was transpiring, or at least that's what Carnation assumed. She couldn't really get mad at that either, seeing as how everyone had their own lives to live and their own problems to deal with, and Carnation was no exception but she did have a moment in which she could spare for another. She just hoped that her generosity wouldn't come back to bite her later on.
Slowly, she approached the two, her hand placed firmly on Nishiko, her sword, which was currently at her waist but concealed by her large cloak-like coat. First cleared her throat to get the attention of the brutish man, who took his sweet time turning his head towards her, letting go of the cloaked person when his eyes locked with Carnations. "Hm? Can I... help you?" Now that First was this close to him, she noticed how he was slowing his words and that his breath reeked of alcohol, and not even the good kind. It was so strong that Carnation pinched her nostrils to protect her senses. During this, however, she still tried to stand all stoic and intimidate the man, but that was very likely not going to happen seeing as how he had a good 2 to 3 feet on her. He looked down on her and she stared back at him, a glare on her face as she tried to figure out the words. Frankly, she did not think this far ahead and thus nothing was planned.
