Appearance:Iris is a mixture of a fox mink and a human. Her skin is covered in wilt marks and cuts all over with a slight tan to it, her fox feature's displaying themselves as golden light brown two inch long ears and a fluffy bulky six inch tail that she often wraps around her waist for protection. Her hair matches the color of her fur being a golden light brown, her hair is super long almost in a wild like fashion reaching from the tip to her ears and down to her mid-back even overflowing over her shoulders into two pony tails kept neat through red orb hair ornaments. Due to a punishment of her youth she has only one arm.
Her sense of fashion more simple in design as she wear's a shoulder less two tone blouse with the top being white and frilled and the bottom half being a light blue while the blouse on her left arm side is tied like a bandage due to her missing left arm, for pants she sports black cargo pants and her shoe wear consists of standard black boots, over her shoulders is the standard marine coat with the wording that read "Justice" in bold lettering, around her waist is a brown loose belt.
Personality:
Curious: Iris as a hybrid of a mink and human child had always been locked up and kept from exploring the knowledge of the world due to her parent's own shame of her birth, in the moments where she was let free or broke out of her own accord she was a curious little thing that often explored the island of her home observing the docile creature's as well as the people and wondering how they moved and lived differently from her. As an adult she lacks an incredible knowledge of the world and tiny things that most would consider common knowledge interest her to an extreme degree.
Sympathetic attachment: As one who was often kept in captivity and was enslaved and held against her will Iris grow up with a disposition of caring about other's life situation often seeing herself in their shoes, as an adult she had grown up not being able to leave someone behind that she can understand what their going through without trying to help them.
Wild: Iris lived her early life in a cage of her parents making disguised as a room, she often looked out the window looking at the vast sky and wondering what it felt to touch it, she dreamed of the ocean waves wondering what it smelt like, she longed for the laughter of another like her in a daily conversation. As such when she broke out of her cage Iris was determined to stay that way, she lives her live to the fullest trying all sort's of things and activities in the pursuit of a new experience under her belt.
Proud: Despite how her race is ultimately treated and expected to act Iris is a complete oxymoron to that rule, instead of shame and regret for being born of a mink and a human she loves both halves and sees it as a great honor to have human DNA within her yet the strength and trait's of a more highly intelligent version of a fox and often get's angry when people insult either race.
Focused: Iris as someone who spent a lot of her youth locked up and bored watching others, the only thing keeping her entertained was books that her father often gave her. With nothing else she became consumed into her books and her attention span was much more developed due to it, even as an adult when she start's something she often becomes consumed in it for a time until she either get's tired of completes the object of her focus.
Optimistic: Iris likes people, she likes a lot of things. She doesn't like to look at something and see the bad more than she sees the good, she believes that everything has a good side and prefers to see it that way. Even if betrayed her optimism is persistent believing their is a deeper meaning to it rather than out right betrayal.
Loyal: As a child she was kept in captivity and as such had no opportunity to gain friends despite wishing she could connect with someone. During her older years as a slave she was able to make friendships, in such an environment all she had were the other slaves and all they had were her, she kept them close and loved and cared for them as if they were her own family and even after her escape she still cherishes her fellow ex-slaves and forges new relationships thinking of each new friend as a member of her own family.
Optional: [*]Likes: Nature - The beauty of nature itself is freedom to her, and being around it makes her feel free herself.
Confidence - if you want to say something, say it loudly, if you want to do something than do so with pride. Confidence is something she didn't have when she was younger but does and now admires it in others.
Kindness - Being mean or hurtful to others is no way to live life and is ultimately a disadvantaging, being kind can go a long way and Iris lives by that philosophy.
Self Improvement - As good as anyone is or was they can always become better, striving to better one's self is the key to success and Iris respects the hell out of that.
Peace -peace is what she strives for in an almost never ending battle of conflicting forces.
[*]Dislikes: War - This word and what it brings is a destroyer of families and bringer of woe, it is a blight upon the earth and all it's life forms.
Violence - senseless violence without real reason is just ugly and she won't stand for it.
Laziness - As someone who was trapped, laziness is just something she hates because their are so many things to do and people to see.
Causing pain or death - She acts for the betterment of the future she envisions but she does not like the people's she had to hurt or the lives she has taken along the way.
[*]Interest: Seeing the mink tribe as a whole accepted into human and other societies as equals, seeing people prosper and becoming something more than what they thought could be, less war and blood shed.
[*]Disinterest: Selfish violence, war for profit, Slavery of races of any kind, bloodshed, People who put others down.
[*]Morality Alignment: Lawful Good.
Future: Iris dreams of a future where minks and all races different from humanity aren't seen as pets or slaves and can walk in broad daylight without fear of prosecution or being put into chains, a world where the races can co-existence without concern for the differences between race.
Dream/Goal: Iris knows that racism and slavery is ultimately all around the world but knows that the main user's of this system our nobles but specifically World Nobles who are at the top of the chain, as such Iris dream is to disband the World Nobles as a whole.

History:
Beginning: 770 - 781
Iris Trembley was born on the island of Mendevilla Garden an island overrun by nature that has grown wildly all around and filled with low level predators, it had but one town and it was known as Ecstasy village, named after it's long running business of supplying the world with prostitutes both male and female to the black market and their associates. Iris mother is Marcy Trembley a fox mink slave and her father Feris Andreax a human slaver in secret after a false selling devised by her father and his brother in the attic of his home. In this world of man and mysterious life forms and master and slave there two worlds were never meant to meant and combine, yet it did and as a result Iris Trembley was born.
However her birth was birth a blessing and and a curse, a linage of two species in a town revolved around selling and enslaving the latter half, the other half profiting and berating the species for their differences in appearance and history. It didn't matter if Iris was half human, she was bi equally half beast which meant she was a stain, a sellable stain. Her father and mother knew this and as such she was raised in the very attic she was born as a mysterious after though to some who knew her mother was pregnant before her false selling only to be bought by her father whom kept them both safe from harm. None of this was known to Iris and as such she grew up feeling like a caged bird, her only view of the sky and world around her was the windows she had to keep shut most of the time and her books that told of imaginary animals and lands far beyond her reach. As she got older Iris became more disobedient to her father's and mothers rules, often sneaking out to explore the island that she saw in her dreams to only at last place her feet onto it's soft soil, climb it's tree's and see its rivers. Her entire life until know felt like imaginary much like the creature's in her book she had read but now she was seeing them for the first time and it felt simply like a dream. This caused her father to worry about her safety which often came out as punishments and to be locked into her room some more, but Iris hated it and came to resent him even more.
One day Iris was looking out the window, their was some type of party or celebration going on. Looking at the villager's smiling faces and how they danced around made her angry, they looked free while she was trapped within the refines of her room that was no better than some cage and she couldn't stand that. Her father and mother which usually at least told her stories every so often had been coming less and less only furthering her anger at being locked up, she couldn't understand what was so bad about her going outside around others, was it her fur? her ears? her tail? So what, she had feelings like everyone else and didn't mean anyone any harm, it was unfair. It wasn't until her father arrived in her room did her feelings leak out, she expressed her anger and her need to go outside but like always he denied her and gave her reasons such as "She was different or that the others wouldn't understand her." It was so exhausting to hear, when it came to late at night she decided, it was time to run away where she could be herself and avoid the others.
She ran towards the northern end of the island until the village was out of sight, the sky had darkened by the time she felt she had ran a fair distance enough for her mom and dad to not give chance, however within the dark of night she realized that maybe being alone wasn't for the best if she was spotted by nocturnal predators. Instead of sleeping at ground level she began to climb the tallest tree in the area she could find to sleep up in it's branches to be the safest she could be from predators, although she felt safe the cold wind that blew through the tree leaves gave her a chill but she tried her best to suck it up until first light of daybreak. The night had been sorely uncomfortable, the cold had dropped her body temperature and the wind across her face disturbed her sleep and she ended up waking up and falling asleep multiple times because of it, at least it was light so she began to climb downward touching the ground once more.
Her stomach roared with hunger, her meal times had been scheduled but now with her being out here that mean she would have to find her own meals so she began to wonder around in search of some fruit to eat and she eventually found some although it took all day but even then when she ate them it felt like nothing and she was still hungry, she heard rustling in the bushes nearby before a deer appeared before her. She stared into it's eyes as it stared into hers, she had seen the creature in her book and always imagined she would be super excited when she found one but instead the only thing she felt when she looked at it was hunger, she hadn't even realized that her lips began salivating until some of her droll had hit her hand causing her to look down and sending the deer into a sprint to evade her. She looked longingly at the area where it was and realized that she was all but ready to eat the creature despite wanting to see one so bad, she couldn't return home but she couldn't live out here on fruits and nuts, she needed to learn how to catch meat to eat. It was getting dark though, so she needed to return to the tree for the night, the cold sensation of the wind pushing by her was more than enough to deter her from that but also to keep herself safe from predators so she began to think about how to do that as she kept eating fruits to try and sate more of her hunger.
She didn't find any and eventually she had to return back to the tree for another cold unrestful night, as she held herself to keep herself warm she began to dream about a story her father told her when she was younger in one of her books, a story about a man marooned on a island with a large forest, "As night drew the man felt a chill within the air and the gaze of things that went bump in the night, scared and alone he took broken sticks of tree branches and gathered them as he set them aflame to give light to the darkness." Once again Iris woke in the morning, this time going straight for the spot with the fruits and nuts to eat, but her throat was now parched needing water, she set out to find some source of body of water, this time it took much shorter as her ears were able to pick up the sound of a river nearby that she drank from as if it was her first taste in a lifetime before leaning back to relax as she stared at the empty river until she realized it hadn't been empty. The river had fish, and fish were meat! she but she had never caught fish so how was she going to catch them..she though about it for a few minutes until she remembered her mother told her that her race was capable of producing electricity. Eager to eat the fish, Iris thought about suddenly sparking up with electricity as she dipped a finger into the river water and to her own surprise the water began zapping as fish began to jump out of the water only to fall back in not moving, quickly Iris snatched the fish out of the water and began eating the fish before it started flopping around raw.
The fish was so delicious after two days without a proper meal she found herself tearing up before finishing the fish within minutes, for the first time since running away she felt satisfied but light was going to fall soon, although last night sucked she could remember her dream about the man creating fire, the book had been based in fantasy but perhaps there was truth to legend so before light really fell she gathered all the sticks she could find and made a pile underneath the tree she made a base of. after a few dozen attempts of trial and error she finally was able to produce an ember, she fanned it lightly and before she knew it she had an actual heating fire. In that moment Iris felt like she could make it in the wild on her own. After running her way Iris made her home in the northern side of the island in an area with a small cave hidden by rocks and tree's and had made it a small hidden hideaway by the time she was eleven. Her world wasn't still as large as it could be but she lived a happy life free to roam the forest while evading the other islanders and her parents out of fear of being brought back, living alone had some of it's own changes but after five years of living alone she learned how to stalk and hunt predators from tree's with a makeshift wooden spear she sharpened to the point, her diet mostly consisting of fish she caught using some strange ability that allowed her to generate electricity in which she flowed into the water to stun the fish for food. The freedom was all she wanted yet still felt alone, to appease that feeling she would often sneak near the village at night to watch people having fun, when she looked at how some of the people were being abused she often didn't think too much of it simply cutting them out as if they had deserved it and imagining herself having fun with them instead.
Of course however, those methods were mere stop gates and didn't compensate for her loneness long term, that was until she found a small wolf that had been hurt and left for dead by their pack. Feeling sorry for the creature she took it in not expecting to keep it but when it grew attach to her and she to it they became best friends, Iris and Watson. For a time everything was going well, she had a friend in a form an animal and a place to call home, that was until...Marco the slaver.
Marco the slaver was a fair man whom had been once a marine captain, but one who messed with a world noble and payed a steep price and forced to retire and take up a private contract as a slave capturer for the noble's entertainment, he took his job seriously and never demanded respect or kindness he didn't believe he earned, but just like any capable marine soldier he was willing to put his own hate and disgust aside to get the job done and avoid any further ire from the highest noble's of the land, to that end when he was ordered by what was essentially his master to go and acquire some rare slaves from Mandeville Garden and burn it to the ground so he may watch from his ship, that was the end of the conversation.
Fall To Ruin: 782
It was just like any other day for Iris, it started with pre-prepping the fire for the cold night ahead and then leaving the bones of her meals for the wild animals to eat as her way to giving back to nature what she took, washing her old clothes and leaving them to dry before she went hunting for her next meal, just daily life for her at this point. But while on her usual scouting route she spotted something quite different, from a high view point that gave her sight of the beach bay she saw a couple of ships beached, man hopping out of the boats and looking around armed and all. It was the first time she actually seen men beach on the bay as some usually came from the open port on the other side, but armed man was nearly common on the island so it was nothing to grand of a surprise.
However she couldn't leave them be, day light would be gone in a few hours and with such a large group stomping through her forest hunting grounds she and Watson might not get a chance to eat dinner and she couldn't have that. initiating Iris jumped from tree to tree cutting off the man to meet them at the beach bay landing into the sand with a soft thud, her sudden presence giving rise to an immediate alert as everyone put a gun her way but she saw it be done before and simply mistook it for a custom of the island, "Are you looking for the village?" Iris asked the group of man, the only one taking interest was the gruff looking man front giving some type of signal that caused the others to lower their weapons, "Indeed we are little one, but we rather not cause such a big fuss. We were hoping to get in as a surprise, think you can help us?"
Iris nodded her hand, "I can, I know a secret short cut that won't alert anyone, follow me!" Iris said easily turning and leading the man, excited to return back to her nice peace and quiet and get back to Watson and because the smell of whatever the man had in his mouth was just awful. The walk through the path was uneventful in the best possible way, when the village was in sight Iris would show it to them and try to leave since her part of the bargain was done, however before she could leave suddenly the man's large hand had gripped her throat silencing any screams she could produce as other man put a thick roll of leather in her mouth preventing her from biting or talking. "Thanks for your help really, I wish I didn't have to do this but were all slaves to something.." The man said however Iris couldn't register it as she was too shocked and confused about what was happening to her to make any decent thought other than she was scared.
That afternoon she watched as people she never had the honor to know, to even talk to were either slaughtered or taken captive by people she had only tried to help, no..maybe it was because she tried to help that this was happening. She had ignored it this whole time but she had long since realized by watching from afar the village was in no means a good place, she thought her parents were just as bad and she tried to get way from all of it like a bird escaping it's cage, but as she watched the houses crumble and the distinct rotten scent of flesh being carried off by the wind as burnt flesh did she only realize that the cage wasn't meant to keep her in but meant to keep these things out, and she destroyed it by her own hands..
There had been many nights Iris couldn't sleep either from her own mind racing or from the cold the wilderness flashed by her before she made her little hide out, but that night she couldn't sleep because all she could taste was snow flakes of ashen skin, the scent of burning wood, the sight of those captured locked in chains and the screams of those struggling to survive their burnt flesh. She looked down at her wrists locked in chains, she had destroyed one cage in favor for another and possibly even worst one, and for what? A small taste of false freedom so she can run around the island and feel free to spite her parents? She had gained nothing and lost everything. The rest of the day was like a blur, the man simply taking roll count and figuring out the ages of the people they caught before giving them small wooden boards with their age and a number on it, whatever their names were didn't seem to matter anymore as they were told to board a lower deck of a ship packed with everyone, the last sight of her home was the black smoke rising from the location of Ecstasy village.
She didn't know how long they had been at sea for, within the confinement of the lower ship chambers their was no light to pass through to give any indication of what time of day it was, the experience was just a constant switch from consciousness to unconsciousness. The others that were captured gave hope of somehow returning to their homes one day by some miracle, hearing that only made her feel more despaired as she realized that island was the home she ever knew and there was nothing for her to return back to and that she played a major part in making that happen, the only thing she could do now was embrace her new life and try to make the best out of it.
A few days later the ship eventually arrived to a private island, the sunlight that she had been tuckered away from hit her face with such intensity she flinched form it before being pulled along with the others, just like the man that had captured her and the other islanders they all wore military shoots in dark shade of green holstered with guns solidifying the fact their was nowhere they could run without being shot, she could see the other girls look around as they also began to realize that fact. Suddenly as she watching the others she felt a hand grip her hair and pull her up, the pain from the grip causing her to do exactly what the person wanted and stand up on her feet to avoid feeling like her scalp was being ripped up, "I though we were capturing slaves, not animals!" A humorous soldiers voice said behind her as she felt a man's breath upon her neck giving her chills before she was thrown upon the ground, nothing more than a object to be discarded.
Like before they took roll count and made sure all the captured people were accounted for and then moved them to a large lavished hallway. In this hallway stood a man with royal blue coat and polished black armor, the blade at his left hip was a clear impression he was either a soldier or was someone not to be messed with as the other soldiers from before took to his left and right standing at full attention. The man simply looked over the group in silence before snapping his fingers causing one of the soldiers to rush to his side with a paper, he overlooked it for a moment before giving it back to the soldier as he stood back into line, "Welcome to my home, I am Malex G. Anthem and starting today you all belong to me. Some of you will be assigned cleaning duties, others will be assigned labor working in the mines on my island where you will find no shortage of work. Do well and you shall be treated well, piss me off.. you will be used as training dummies for my guards until the day you miserable wrenches die. I'm I clear?" Iris found herself choked on her words, she didn't have much contact with people to make a proper judgement on behavior or how to treat people until recently, but this..this wasn't humane, it was sick and wrong yet she couldn't find herself able to say so or perhaps maybe she was afraid to say anything at all and ended up nodding like the others in approval confirming on her own accord she was now in fact property of some other being.
From there her new life began, all the male captives had been put into the mines to work while the females had been put into cleaning service except a few disobedient one's. It wasn't too hard, just clean sleep and repeat, a cycle not much different from her old one, she was slave but it wasn't all bad as at least every other day her and the others were permitted to go outside to clean the outside of the house, it was work but at least she could have some fresh air and although the meals they got were all substitute's of the real thing at least she was allowed to eat. The worst part about her circumstances weren't the duties she was assigned, it was the people, she quickly realized that her heritage was not one that was welcomed as the soldiers often called her a dog and made her jobs harder and the others ignored her to avoid having the same or worst done to them, she didn't mind and instead took the abuse as it came because she didn't feel the need to get angry, she might have not understood her mother but she was no doubt a beautiful and intelligent women and was nothing like a dog, her father was different but he was nothing like the guards and as long as she carried that truth they couldn't hurt her.
Rock Bottom: 783
It had been a couple of months since she and the other had been captured, their diet and constant work made them all pounds lighter then when they had arrived and the dreariness of the routine was starting to set in. Her new life revolved around not upsetting the guards or her Master, she had quickly realized that he cared not for their life and only what they did for him, the guards could do whatever they wanted and anyone who opposed them would suffer the Master's wraith as he treated them as if they were his own family. Iris room when she started had nearly ten girls but now they had gone down to but four as some had been executed trying to escape and others had angered the guards being sold to the most unimaginable owners while some were sent to the Sereta grounds, a living hellhole. However Iris kept working despite all that, it wasn't pretty but at least she was alive and she could only hope one day someone strong enough would liberate her and the others form this despair they were delivered too, she just had to keep surviving until then. She had been cleaning the kitchen like she did every Thursdays of the week after finishing the hallway connected to it, the usual soldiers pulling on her ear and pushing her down into the wet floor causing her clothes to drip and smell like the cleaning solution she used for the house, same old same old and reported back to her bed once her duties were fulfilled, she could hear the other girls snickering to themselves and for a moment she was interested but let it go because even if she was she would never be included, all she could do was go to sleep and prepare for the next days duties.
Once again she woke up the next day, did her duties, same old same old and then reported back to her room near the evening and had fallen back to sleep, but right before she was fully able to the door bust wide opened and five soldiers rushed into the room armed creating an arch as Master Malex entered, he looked around the room and then held out his hand as one of the soldiers gave him their gun before he aimed forward and shot it at one of the girls head killing her instantly as her blood splattered around, the sight and smell of it all put Iris in a state of shock as the other girls screamed. The Master permitted them before holding up his hand causing them to go silent all the same, "Someone in this room or perhaps all of you..have stolen food from me, your master causing one of my loyal workers to get fed less then their fair share of food. I have killed one of you for this grave offense, the situation as of right now is all of you be sent to your deaths or you can sacrifice one person to face punishment and then the be sent to be my guards newest test dummy while the rest of you will sacrifice one days meal, which is it?" Just as he finished all the guards aimed their guns at each of them ready to kill them all, it wasn't a matter of if it was going to happen it was a matter of who was going to take the fall.
Iris eyes scanned the room, their had to be something or any type of clue that would indicate who it was. Their was no reason for everyone or the wrong person to take the fall for someone else's mista- "SHE DID IT, THE MUTT!!" Iris looked up her eyes shrinking down as everything in her body froze as the last breath only came out as one thing, "Huh?" She was confused, why did they think she was the one who did it, they knew she fell asleep right after her duties everyday, she had an alibi. "I didn-" before she could speak for herself the other girls began to chime in all pointing the blame at her, she couldn't believe it. throughout her time here she was always the one abused or spat at but she never once disobeyed an order, stealing something was an act everyone in the room should have known she would never do. "I DIDN'-" As soon as she tried to speak to herself she found a fist speeding into her stomach, the impact hard enough to cause all the contents in her stomach to expel out as she hunched over onw soldier pushed her head down to the floor board as the other four pinned down her legs and arms rendering her incapable of moving, "I invited you into my home.." She heard the master speak as she heard an ever soft metallic screeching sound that drove her deeper into panic, "..Don't.." was all Iris could think to herself, "Gave you food, water a bed.." soft trickle's of water began to come from her eyes as she looked at the ground and saw the shadow of the Master's blade, "...It wasn't me.." The shadow of the blade rose in the air, "And you bite the hand that fed you, just like the dog you are." In the end Iris couldn't speak for herself, the shadow of the blade swung down at her but it didn't take her life and for a moment she thought she was safe that was until immense pain jolted her system, she screamed in agony as she looked over to see that her right arm was cut off and bleeding. "HURRY UP AND FIX HER UP, I WANT TO WATCH HER SQUIRM IN SERATA GROUNDS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" from agonizing pain and shock.
When Iris came to it was to the sight of being chained up on a iron slab in a cell with no blanket or pillowing whatsoever, she propped herself up as she tried to make sense of her surroundings in the midst of her fog and when it all started coming back to her she looked over her right shoulder to see her arm was in fact missing, "Hello my pet!" Iris looked up to see Master Malex staring down at her she gripped her right shoulder with her left hand, "I didn't do it.." Master Malex gave a scoff, "I know. You think I don't keep tabs on my newest slaves? I know the one that accused you first took the meat and used the others to increase the blame." Iris stared into his eyes, "Then why..why me.." Malex smiled, "Because your a dog, nobody here cares about you more than themselves, if I were to punish the other girls eventually they will come to hate me and revolt, but you? You won't be missed, in fact their glad you took the fall and are gone, they don't care about you, your nothing. But a pet to what I wish that is.
There it was then, the reality of her situation. It didn't matter if she was nice, if she stayed out of others ways or was obedient and tried to help everyone because at the end of the day to them she was nothing but a dog, a animal pretending to be human walking among them making them sick but was useful and then when she wasn't useful anymore was convenient to toss aside to save themselves, nothing she could do would amount to being worthy in their eyes because she was different and that was that. If her situation was truly that bleak what was the point of trying anymore? Wouldn't it be easier to just give up and let herself slip away mentally from it all and save herself the mental anguish, yeah it would be so easy..like falling into a dream. In that moment the memory of the crystal sky above Mandevilla garden appeared to her only to transform into a pitch black sky filled with smoke and the smell of burning flesh, she wanted to give up but if she did she would never be free, her home would be forever lost and her parents sacrifices to keep her safe would have been for nothing, no she couldn't allow that even if it costed her all the pain and anguish in the world. "SCREW YOU! I DON'T CARE IF IM A DOG, A CAT, OR A MOUSE! YOU BURNT MY HOME AND CAPTURED INNOCENT PEOPLE TO SELL THEM OR ENSLAVE THEM, YOUR THE TRUE ANIMALS AND AS LONG AS I LIVE AND BREATHE I WILL KEEP FIGHTING A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS THIS!" She didn't know if what she was saying could actually happen, hell she had no idea if she would die eventually from her wound or if she would be killed, but it didn't matter because she would absolutely not give in to someone or anyone would willing take someone else's freedom away who had done nothing to deserve their fate, she would fight any chain of command that opposed such things on others, on that she would bet her life.
Revolt & Decision: 785
It had been two years since her arm was cut off and her new life. When she first got here she was no different from the rest of the lot that had been thrown into the pits of despair as she lamented her taken arm and attempted to train if only to keep up her false hope of becoming free but even that was pitiful, the mismatched weight distribution caused every movement of hers to become harder as her body couldn't account for the missing weight and she kept falling on her ass, without her other arm she was practically a punching bag that couldn't defend herself and all felt lost, eventually overtim she learned to use the mismatched weight to her advantage in a manner of spinning with added momentum and instead relying on her fists she began to rely on her legwork taking advantage of her added spin force.
Still, despite knowing how to fight she could not oppose the guards in the Serata grounds, The grounds were a place where the guards trained against slaves who were given nothing while guards used wooden swords to beat them with, in other words it was nothing more than a ring of constant abuse disguised as a way to make guards better. "Come out here Dog!" her head slightly looked up as she was called to the ring next, walking into open day light, the guard taunted some words at her but over the course of two years she got used to it and instead looked up at the sky, suddenly the flat part of the wooden blade smacked against her face sending her tumbling towards the dirt as the guards laught and encourage the man who had hit her, "Look at me dog!" The man said happily, Iris complied but she hated the man with all her heart and for a moment she could see a flash of fear in the man's face before he hit her again sending her tumbling once more. It was a ritual by know to look at the sky as the guard began beating her with more intensity, through the pain looking at the sky reminded her why she never gives up hope of leaving the wretched grounds and continues to let herself beat up, all the times she had endured it her eyes got better at reading movements but if she dodged more would come and she couldn't risk pissing them off enough to outright kill her, she needed to buy time until an opportunity presented itself, it was all she could do.
She returned to the area where others like her who had offended the rules of the house were sent to live in damp moist cave, "I see your not dead yet, that's good." Ymir chuckled to himself as he looked at Iris walking towards him, "I rather kill myself than die in a hellhole like this." she said with a hint of a smile as she threw herself against the wall and slide to the floor. Ymir was in no other words her best and only human friend she had, he had accidently dropped an expensive urn and had been punished with a twenty five lashes before being sent to the Serata ground just like her to be subjected to endless beatings and cruel conditions, she avoided him at first but over time his attempts to befriend her won her over and they became birds of feather locked in a cage against their will.
"KEEEEH! Damn those bastards got me good!" Iris smirked and looked at Ymir grateful for his attitude not changing much despite their situation, "You better get some sleep to heal, tomorrow is the other only day we can train to prepare for the day we can get out of here." Ymir stopped squirming as he looked at her, "Do you really think it will happen. The chance to get out of here..?" She stopped smiling and considered it carefully, "If we keep training..we will eventually get stronger, if the chance doesn't come I will make one, I refuse to spend my whole life here.." Iris looked over to the others, some much older than her with misshapen bodies and scars from all the beatings they occurred, it was a grim reminder on why she kept training for her chance at freedom. Ymir snickered, "Sheesh your intense~!" He paused for a moment, "If that ever happens, I'll follow you to the ends of the earth, as your right hand man..." Ymir said looking at her missing right arm in a sober low tone, Iris slowly moved her left hand over to it with a smile that was covered by her long grown hair, "I'll keep you too that." That night Iris thought about Ymir question, she wanted to be free and she was going to make it happen one way or another, but what then? Even if she was free eventually someone at one point might try to capture her, capture others, it was an endless cycle. She wanted to be free, but she wanted everyone to be as well and on equal footing, their had to be some way.
Weeks had passed, their routines of beatings, eating and training repeated like normal before they turned in for the night. Suddenly a large explosion happened that rattled the cave they were in waking all of them up, "What's happening!?" Ymir asked in which she couldn't answer because she had no idea, she got up and walked to the bars that kept them inside trying to see anything, she could only hear vague sounds of what was going on but not long after a guard ran towards them scared before he was abruptly shot down by gun fire revealing a man in a white tuxedo covered in what could only be blood with a blade at his left hip. Iris immediately stepped back on guard, "Wait don't be scared. Were here to get you out of here! I''m part of the rescue squad of the revolutionary army while our attack forces our dealing with the guards and Master of this house" He said as he took out his blade and swung it across the bars, to her surprise. Her eyes widened, the bars that had kept her in captivity for so long were cut like nothing, the others around her rushed out around her running like crazy out of the cell while she simply looked at the bars, as she did so a revelation came to her. She needed to be free, but she needed to cut the chain, the chain of command that allowed slavery to continue, that's what she needed to do to end this cycle! "IRIS COME ON, LETS GO!" Ymir screamed at her as he began to pull her out of the cell so they can run and get away.
She grabbed Ymir shirt and brought him close to her face, "Ymir, I got to become a marine!" the soldier who saved them guided the others but looked back to see they were behind, "Come on you two! we have to leave!" Ymir ignored the soldier as he swatted her hand away, "Stop playing games Iris! We have our chance at last, you want to go to the people who allow people like Malex to do this without consequences! We don't have time for this foolery!!" Iris tightened her fist, "Even if I were to get free,my kind.. all kinds of races that aren't human will continue to suffer indefinitely..!!" Iris looked at Ymir directly, "The only way to stop this madness is to cut the chain of command that allows this to happen in the first place..If I become a fleet admiral, I can have sway.. I can change things! It's the only way!!" Iris said backing away, "I have too..for my kind..for my parents..for everyone whose life can possibly suffer..ITS THE ONLY WAY!!" It was crazy but there was truly no other way she could think of, she had to go, but before she could make a sprint for it Ymir grabbed her hand, "Don't go thinking your the only one that want's to stop this, lets go together!" Iris paused and then she smiled out of gratefulness nodding as they began to head for Malex's secret stash of boats she knew about from before she was sent to Serata, from their they had grabbed a boat and escaped the property of Malex in the dead of night, free at last.
Government Dog: 786-789
After Iris and Ymir made it out of Malex property estate, they had escaped by a spare boat and wandered at sea for awhile before they were found by a marine ship that took them in, Iris begged them to allow her to join the forces, many of the men were outright imposed to having a animal among their forces, however the marine captain didn't. Instead he made the reality of her situation clear telling her that she would be treated like a dog and ultimately an expendable asset considering she was missing an arm. Iris had already accepted that her treatment would only be a little better but ultimately the same and didn't hesitate to still say she wanted to join, the captain respected her decision and through some connections he managed to get her inside the marine forces.
A year had passed since then, Ymir was given a position in another marine squad while Iris was given a position under Hadrian Welsh a Marine Captain. Captain Hadrian was a man of favoritism and as such when she arrives to his squad and the others realized their newest member was essentially a dog and one missing an arm at that the welcoming was not kind in any matter. The Captain made his dislike of her very known as he did not spare her emotions or cared for her missing arm during her training period and would without mercy beat her and drill in the fact that her arm was in fact limiting to her, and that she should quit while she could. However Iris couldn't do that, quitting meant that the system that had plagued her entire youth into despair would never change and that others would suffer a fate similar to her, their was no way she would be able to sleep at night knowing that would happen. Still, her time as a slave had left a mental scare on her mind, as she sparred it was clear to her that her trained habit of allowing herself to get was rather prominent and the other trainee's took advantage of that by beating her without fear of retaliation from her or their captain who had already deemed her as a lost cost. Iris was well aware of this fact and while the others slept she wasted no time in using some of her sleeping hours to further her training by breaking out of her habit via training against person shaped dummies through pretending it was a person throwing attacks at her and her dodging in response, like her time as a slave the racism and indifference she encountered was no different and she applied that into her night training imagining the insults that came her way giving more life into her reason to retaliate now that she was free and could defend herself accordingly. When it was clear she was starting to physically become stronger than the others the captain began to take interest in her and began training her personally, however she was no match for him and just like always she would end up beaten thoroughly but for the first time she was grateful that someone was finally not beating her out of hate but out of interest in her development.
Still her time as a marine officer was harder than most as the higher ups tried to deter her from their forces at every chance, while some had to run laps she was forced to run miles, if there was a package shipment that usually required a few dozen men she was told to do it alone within a couple of hours with her run arm, she was forced to clean as twice as much as the average soldier and her entire life was more akin to hell than the freedom she imagined. Still, this was much better than eating almost spoiled food and sleeping on wet dirt floors and watching the oppressed suffer around her, she was getting beaten still by the Captain but it was to help her so that made the pain all the more durable for her to take.
Five years had went into training her body, and three years into training her scarred mind and to learn the marine's martial arts style Rokushiki while completing tasks and minor operations all the while continuing to get beat as the foundation of bone hardening had already been literally beaten into her so the Captain continued that regiment, the others of her squad no longer degraded her and saw her as an equal over the course of the years. Through higher ranked rumors she heard the attack on the Malex compound had actually been a planned assault since he had a material that the revolutionary army needed to help others like her, knowing this Iris began to participate helping other squads that hated her but knowing that people were capable of change and that there were some actively doing it made it that much tolerable for the sake of the future as she kept doing tasks with squads in a small attempt to change them to love all people and slowly but surely it was starting to work. by the year 789 Captain Hadrian finally deemed her as ready for official duty and granted her the promotion of Ensign the first official marine title.

Beginning 770 - 781: When you ran away I would've liked to see more of what it took to survive. Since you had been 'locked up' before your stay at the cave. Would've been a good moment to showcase how the Mink side of you had instinct that weren't taken away from being part Human, or highlight some of the books you read. Since your Father was the one to give you the books, them being about some form of survival could've been a way for him to prepare you encase you did get taken. Or have Watson play a more pivotal role in your time in the wilderness.
Fall To Ruin 782: I dig how finally returning home didn't end the best for Iris.
Rock Bottom 783: Now, I really liked how this was done. You don't have to change it but I do think the Noble treatment of everyone should've been highlighted more. I understand he doesn't care for the life of his slaves, that is clear, but how cruel he can be only was shown with the thieving incident.
Revolt & Decision 785: I'm glad you had someone else do the revolt, but would've liked more reason on why. And I liked how instead of just leaving quickly as possible you had a BIG character moment with Ymir. Having a goal of what you could do with your freedom was nice. It fit. As up to this point, from what I read, is that Iris has natural good in here. But, never could do anything with it. I also wished you'd show more of how Iris dealt with the loss of a arm.
Government Dog 786-788: This is the only portion I think falls somewhat sort. Cause I wanted to see the transition of the weak Iris becoming stronger, even if just a bit. Mentally and Physically she had already been through so much. I hoped to get a glimpse of how She used that to stay with her dream. Because, unlike slavery you don't have to stay a Marine. And the mistreatment you'd get wouldn't need to be tolerated. I wanted to see how you dealt with the type of hate you choose to put up with, in pursuit of your dream and goals. Or if not that. Showed the training. The Marines aren't sort handed that they just let any amputee just take up space. You'd have to work extremely harder, it would've been good to show how hard she worked.
OVERALL, I like Iris and see how a character like this could move up in the Marines and achieve Her goal. But, I wouldn't say this a Grade A, more so a B. And this is mainly from the last portion of your lore(Government Dog). Give me some more substance with that and we can get you that Grade A.
